Default Can you spot the problem?
I wonder how long it took them to realize that this is not going to work. It took me a few seconds to spot the problem (yeah, I know, it's obvious. But a funny picture, nonetheless.)
The picture was taken after the men were done installing the posts around a bar, and they're cleaning up from the day's work.

This was not shocking to me. Being an architect, I've seen a lot of this kind of stuff...not always to this scale.

Although, I'm working on a little 2,400 sf fit-up that some idiots tried to get permitted. They submitted "drawings" to the state for plan review. The first time was a hand sketch...=FAIL. The second time, under a different project name (as if they were going "sneak it through"), they submitted drawings done in an Excel spreadsheet using the cells as grid paper and the cell borders as "walls". Completely pathetic!......=FAIL AGAIN. In the meantime, they had their contractor (..."oh, yeah, he knows what he's doing") framing up this two story little gem. All kinds of code issues. We're going to try to get them variances on some things, but it's possible they'll have to rip it all out and start over.

Pays to hire professionals.
