Default A Momentous Leap to Socialism
OBAMA’S LEAP TO SOCIALISM

By Dick Morris
04.22.2009

Published on TheHill.com on April 21, 2009
President Obama showed his hand this week when The New York Times wrote that he is considering converting the stock the government owns in our country’s banks from preferred stock, which it now holds, to common stock.
This seemingly insignificant change is momentous. It means that the federal government will control all of the major banks and financial institutions in the nation. It means socialism.

I'm not at all surprised, but it's just so insidious that the main-stream liberals miss it completely.

if i were you, i'd be quiet. do you really want to look at Bush's record and argue that it was the product of intelligent and reasonable decision making? i think he actually looks better in retrospect if we assume he was taking orders from imaginary men in the sky.

This has nothing to do w/Bush's #@%^ ups. Whats done is unfortunately done, but to sit here and bicker about your stupid f#$@!%g partisan politics while this kind of crap keeps happening under Obama is ridiculous. How anyone can support the road he's trying to take us down is beyond me. Just why exactly would you want the government running everything? Why would you want more taxes? And why would you want that tax $ to go to bums who don't work and freeload, doing nothing for this country or even themselves? It disgusts me.

Almost half the country favor socialism. Unfortunately, only about 10% of 'em know what it really means. But, hey, that's the "beauty" of it.

of course it does, PT. we had a surplus before W came into power. Obama inherited a catastrophe of titanic proportions. and two can play the devil's advocate game. do you want more tax breaks for the wealthy at a time like this? don't you find that a little bit disgusting?

The way I see it, you conservatives are no different than liberals. You fell for the same lies in '00 that liberals fell for in '08. I feel that Bush's strings are being pulled by the same corrupt wealthy bankers & businessmen that are pulling Obama's. Regardless, this is a one way ticket to hell. If you look at history, Socialism always ends in Communism.

What do you neo cons think about the SPP? Obama "supports" it and plans to do nothing but continue what Bush started in '05, not to mention this treaty was signed behind closed doors without a say from congress as well as the American people. Left and right mean nothing in my eyes, just another way to divide and rule.
