Question Will McCain be too old to run in 2012?
He will be 76 years old in 4 years. The oldest elected president was Ronald Regan at 69 years 11 months 14 days.

My question is, will John McCain be too old to run for office in 4 years? Will his health even permit it? I know much of this is speculation, but I want to hear people's opinions.

If he can keep his mind sharp and still remember his war stories he should be alright to run.
Proud to be from Arkansas

No one has ever done it before? Does that not set precedent?

McCain will not run again if he loses. If he does not get elected next week his organization passes to Lindsey Graham.

Does anyone else think, as has been the popular opinion in the media as of late, that Palin is trying to set herself up for a run in 2012 on a ticket of her own?

i dont think the Palins and Huckabees of the world are going to go away, but if the GOP loses this year, i hope more traditional (pre-religious Right) conservative candidates emerge...

There are whispers of some Repubs wanting to start another party. That's how divisive Palin has been.

They've already thrown Buckley Jr. from the National Review because he endorsed Obama. If things continue the way they're going then there's going to be a lot of arguing and soul-searching on the Republican side.

Because the republicans in power now do not support the original thoughts of republicans, who did at one time Ronald Reagan and before, think like libertarians and independents..

If McCain loses I think Palin goes back to Alaska and her hype will be gone forever except for SNL skits.

He is probably too old to run this year. He is already older than any president ever elected.

If McCain loses, Palin will start cashing in on her fame big time. She earned it. It's the American way.
