I read a lot. lol

I like bugs, snakes, birds, fish, ect ect. Animal biology has always been my strong subject.

Another thing, the australian trap door spider is very fast. Fast enough to run up a broom stick and bite you on the hand before you can let it go! It's also deadly poisonous.

I would love nothing more than to get out of the navy (I am in a month) get home and get started on a biology degree. My dream job is to be that guy from the zoo that bring animals to the classroom to teach kids about them.

Are you talking about the Funnel-web spider there? We have a lot of different types of trapdoors for some reason.

Those are aggressive, vicious and just plain ridiculously venomous.

Yes, some call them funnel web spiders and some call them trap door spiders.

The one I'm talking about you've probably seen on t.v. Its big, black, with 1 inch long fangs. It's mainly the males (which are smaller than the females if that matter) that are the ones that usually bite because they wander about searching for females. You know, the one where some australian guys is like "CRIKEY, SHE'S A BUTE!"

They become agitated very easily. Like if you walk past them. lol

Are they more venemous than the blackwidow or the brown recluse?

Much more venomous - and much more aggressive.

Black Widows and Brown Recluses would rather hide when confronted and will only bite if touched/stepped on or have very close contact.

A funnel web will rear up on its back legs if you get even close, which means it is getting ready to bite. They are unusually aggressive.

Very much so but I'm not sure if the vemon itself is drop for drop more potent. But because the funnel web is so much bigger so you get a much more potent bite because they inject that much more venom.

Yeah, I guess if you live there its cool. I dunno how I would adjust. I'd keep one of those electric swatters with me all the time.

I'm from Melbourne so we didn't get those nasty tropical spiders - we just had harmless huntsman spiders the size of dinner plates who would sit in the corner of the bedroom and eat flies and mosquitos whenever they could be bothered

Justin, is it true that the daddy longlegs is very venemous but just cant pierce human skin b/c their fangs are to soft or is it just a myth? I have heard both ways but just not from someone that was knowledgable on the subject.

You get used to them - so long as they don't move too much! Sometimes I'd have one that sat in the corner of my bedroom, up by the ceiling usually, for days. More often than not I'd have to break the jar out when it moved into my sister's bedroom

Spiders are always bad this time of the year. I find them almost daily in my kitchen. Spiders man. They will do what ever a spider can.

That is freaky, but neat. I learn something new everyday! I just could not imagine having a spider that size just hanging out in the bedroom.
