Well, Iraq and Somalia are vastly different situations, on that I agree. McCain knows what he truly feels and what he is spouting off to the public are vastly different. And for that I do not fault him. He wants to win over the conservative vote, the military vote, which is primarily Republican. So he echoes the party line, he echoes the presidents mantra. He is politicking. To an extent he has lost his hipness, he has begun to rely on the certainty of the young vote which he had strongly a few years ago. The problem is that young people who pay attention have no allegiance, and they will turn on him, and have, if he does not stick to his principles. Young voters are very idealistic, and McCain isn't appealing to ideality. Obama is, and that is why he has the upper hand.
