Default Earthquake east of Japan
I just heard that there was an earthquake in the Pacific just off the coast of Japan and measured 6.9 on the Richter scale. They said there was a tsunami warning out for the region but said nothing about how much, if any, damage was done.

What was the scale earthquake that caused that last tsunami again? I can't remember...

Do you have a website for that??? My wife is from Okinawa I just want to see if a Tsunami is heading that way.

Heard it on the local news up here and they just posted this link on yahoo about 2 mins ago. Northern Japan the link says...Okinawa in the south part of Japan, correct? I hope so.

the tsunami earthquake was around 9.0 i believe....i forget exactly how the richter scale works but i believe that would make it 200 or 2000x stronger than this one.

that's not to say a 6.9 couldn't do serious damage on land.

yeah it is an island south of mainland Japan my wife talked to her family and they say they are expecting rain and some wind but nothing that they havent ever been through, they have at least 4 or 5 typhoons there a year, when i was there, a typhoon came through the latter part of 2002 and i literally sat in my barracks room looking out the window and watched the wind push a car of the road into the ditch it was some crazy stuff.
