I was lookin on Rivals and Texas already has 17 commitments for the 2006 season, and 3 top rivals100 prospects. How many guys can they sign next year, and what the hell are they buying them to commit?
Have you ever been to Austin?? It's awesome!!! And Texas is the most fertile football recruiting ground in the world and all those kids grow up dreaming of playing for the Horns, most of them anyway, so they're going to have fantastic recruiting every single year.
That QB that Texas has...or is it had now?....was awesome in that bowl game. I don't remember his name off the top of my head but he was damn impressive looking to me.

No way. Florida is the best state for football. No question. Texas is great, but there's really only one great program down there (Texas).
Florida's talent supports three great programs in-state--well, one great program (UF) and two others -- as well as some of the other top programs in the southeast (UT, uga, etc.).
Texas can always get good recruits but never seems to put them together into a decent team...Sure they can have a stellar defense and a good running attack, but they can never win the games that matter...How many times have they been in the top 5 and how many times have they messed up and missed their chance at a national title...Recruiting means jack if you cant have someone mold them into one unit...
South Carolina is no where near those states at the amount of recruits they produce...But we dont have as many people...But we have some good people consistantly come out of SC...

I'd say it's
1. Florida
2. Texas
3. California
4. Ohio
That may be for in-state college football, but TEXAS is the most fertile football recruiting ground in the world, and that includes Florida. Florida would be my vote for No.2, but Cali's up there too. Just check out the link Jneesy provided, it'll clear it up. I wasn't talking about college though, that's easy. With FSU, Miami and Florida no other state can compare to that. But as for recruits, no other state can compare to Texas in terms of football.
