Strong second half pushes VU past Rice, 36-17 Running back Warren Norman rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown and quarterback Larry Smith tossed for 268 yards as Vanderbilt (2-2, 0-1 SEC) evened its season record with a 36-17 win at Rice (0-4, 0-2 Conference USA) on Saturday.
