This is not Rocky Top, but talk UT Sports here anyway.
the sting of disappointment after the UCLA loss has faded somewhat, and now i'm looking for positives.
-UCLA is a good team and we outgained them. we had 4 turnovers and still only lost by 4.
-South Carolina and Georgia only looked good against each other, and we get both of them at home. i'm not yet convinced that either of them are particularly good. i'd take our D over either of theirs.
-Auburn looked great Saturday, but i think we have a puncher's chance against them. we're their first road game of the season.
we haven't played a SEC game yet. it's blatant, delusional homerism, but i'm not ready to throw in the towel yet.
You guys played horrible the other day but I think alot of that was your coaches fault. Why not try and throw the ball on 3rd and goal? Maybe 4th and goal? I know your QB isn't great but you should atleast try and throw it.
I would be disappointed if I were you guys but you can only go up from here. You guys have the first real defense that the barn will face. If you guys can limit turnovers then you should win easily.
Don't throw in the towel just yet.
I wouldn't go as far as saying all hope is lost. Maybe they should give Stephens a shot. It might just be one of those things where Crompton looks the best in practice, but completely falls apart under the pressure of a big game when there's a real defense on the other side. He wouldn't be the first QB to look like a champ in practice and a chump in real games.
Maybe Crompton should just start calling audibles whenever Kiffin calls in another dive play at the goal line. Last week the line on the UTK Florida game was 27 and the Auburn UTK line was 6.

Hey man, I think even the most levelheaded Vols fans got excited after W. Kentucky. The UCLA game was disappointing, especially seeing Cromps relapse, but it is what it is. I haven't given up hope, but it really all hinges on what you'd define as hope. 6 wins would be Ok with me, but 7 would be better. I hate to say it but just being competitive and playing hard would satisfy me.....wow, I'm starting to sound like a gamecock fan....This staff has inherited a mess, but as long as they can keep up the fantastic recruiting, we fans have a lot to look forward to......patience, my friends, is a virtue.

All tennessee has to do is limit turnover and they will 'easily' beat auburn? Excellent analysis sir...
