Default Austin Rodgers Torn ACL
Volquest: Austin Rogers will miss the season with a (likely) torn*ACL - Rocky Top Talk

Not a huge loss in my opinion.

Granted, Rogers didn't have a big year last year, but he was a guy capable of catching 50+ balls in a year. Not sure how you can say that's not a big loss.

Well in the Fulmer era, in my opinion he took the spot of more capable receivers that rode the bench. He is a depth chart loss if we are trying to play the best players.

He could catch balls from Erik Ainge. We need athletes to catch Crompton's passes. Haha

I don't think its a huge loss because I don't think Kiffin was going to give him the PT that he has gotten in the past.

He will be missed, and it is a big loss. As depleted as our depth chart is, anyone and everyone is needed this year.

I have to agree with you on this one. I honestly didn't see Rogers getting near as much playing time as he got in the Fulmer era. In terms of depth it is a loss but I definitely see Kiffin playing the younger and more athletically gifted guys. I see this as a better reason to get Nukeese in there early. I do feel for Rogers though. That sucks for the 5th year Senior.

I thought UT had already lost like 3 or 4 WR's... it has to be tough to lose one with that much experience. That's probably not the biggest loss, though... UT only had 8 TD passes last season, and Denarius Moore, who just broke his left foot yesterday or today, caught 2 of them. Tennessee Volunteers receiver Austin Rogers out for season; Denarius Moore likely out for eight to 12 weeks - ESPN

Now losing Denarius Moore is a loss. He is our 3rd or 4th receiver. We do still have Jones, Hancock, and Warren along with incoming freshmen Richardson and maybe Teague if they decide to put him on offense. Hopefully Moore can recover from the injury and come back midseason. We need him.

He dropped about 15, though. Cut's pass offense in 07 was more like a running game.

Sounds like he'll be back before mid-season. 8-12 weeks is usually closer to 8 with young athletes and the rehab programs of top athletic departments.

Well that blows. Didn't know about that one. With a few receivers quitting and a few getting injured it is more and more likely they will throw Teague in on offense for some more depth. We have a plethora of DBs.

On a good note, Bryce is impressing people with his work ethic and maturity apparently.

More bad news for the Vols at receiver - SEC - ESPN

No way Bryce Brown? He is way too cocky to have maturity and work ethic....
