So I just have to say I am squirming. Its driving me nuts. How long do you think we are going to have to wait to hear from this kid...? I know he has the USC offer and all but, he has to see its going to take a while to get PT there with Matt Barkley just getting there this summer.

I am happy we got some O line commitments, but we really need to get Scroggins on board so we can snag some receivers. I just felt like I heard it was going to be a few weeks or so like a month ago. Essentially he was going to decide shortly after the USC camp.

What do you think. Are we going to get him or not? And more importantly when? Lets here some thoughts.

I have no idea. I heard recently that our coaches felt really confident until after the USC camp. Now, they just don't know and are beginning to offer other quarterbacks. Ut really needs him on board soon. We are in the running for some of the top receivers in the country, but obviously no qb is a huge drawback. I believe that Rettig is much better than people think, but we don't want to strikeout on Scroggins like we did on Heaps and Bell.

I personally see Scroggins going to USC. I read somewhere on ESPN that he was super excited about getting an offer from USC and that he really didn't care if he had to compete with Matt Barkley or not. I'm going to be honest - I think we are pretty much screwed if we don't get him. Yea there are some other QBs out there like Rettig but none that carry the big name like Scroggins. Recruiting will take a big hit if he ends up going to USC.

From what I've been reading, his father really wants him to be a Trojan because they live 20 min. away. We really need him, not only to run the offense, but to also draw in some more commits on the offensive side of the ball. BUT there are some more choices left on the board, just not as much name power as Scroggins. It would be sweet to see him in Orange and white(not black/orange/white), but the longer he waits, the more I lose hope. Remember the names Tommy Rees, Tyler Bray and of course Nick Lamaison.

I propose a trade Mettenberger for eric berrys brother.

If I were CLK, I'd tell him(Scroggins) that the second he signs his LOI, I'd have a LOI in the fax machine for his cousin. Who knows, the cousin may end up a contributor. It's a gamble, but it'll pay off just having the big name QB in our stable.

I dunno. I really don't think he has his mind made up yet after reading the article. I definitely don't think he is going to Florida. And he can't help USCw recruiting by committing there because they don't need any help.

I think he is going to be a Vol. Florida has already got enough talented QBs plus he has no family there. USCw is deep at QB, with Barkley already threatening for a job as a freshman I think Scroggins will regret it if he goes there. As for Tennessee, he is looking at almost guaranteed playing time his freshman year and he has family here.

Either way the next two plus weeks are going to drive me insane! Kiffin and the boys better get to work or this so called "all star recruiting staff" is really going to be hurting. And if they don't land this kid and they will face a lot of criticism.

Its getting real frustrating because hes holding off the offensive prospects from committing. If he doesn't sign remember that Sam Bradford, Colt McCoy, Chase Daniel all 3 stars so we know there is still talent out there.

Yah that is the only thing that has me on pins and needles is the wait. I just want to sign either him or Rettig, and soon. I know there is other talent out there but, I would prefer to get Scroggins and soon.
