Hey my Tennessee buddies I have a question
How much does emotion play in a big game? Can it help you win a game? I think maybe in the first half but then maybe in the second half you start to get tired then talent steps in . What do you guys think?

Not a whole lot. Games are won first by having better players, then by better schemes. I'd rate emotion somewhere down the line after bounce-of-the-ball.
I think emotion/heart can play a big part, but most of the time talent and coaching wins out. Momentum, I think, is the biggie that can determine the game.
I think it is a factor, but not a deciding one. So often you see underdogs take first half leads on emotion due to being pumped up for one reason or another. However, sure enough as the game progresses the better team starts to reel them in and take control.
I think emotions get in the way of focus and determination. I would rather my team be focused and have their eyes set on what they need to get done rather than them allowing emotion to get in the way and then forget an assignment or something. Overall emotion really doesn't change the outcome of a game unless it is two evenly matched teams.
