Default Best and worst in the last 20 years
I was watching Hall Salvage sports source today and they were taking a poll about the best and worst for tennessee football in the last twenty years . Number 1 for the worst was losing to LSU in 2001 and the best was winning the National Championship in 1998. What does my vol fans think! were the right on the money? Thoughts from my orange clad buddies?

Sportsgirl, I'm not a resident Vols fan. But I'd like to throw my thoughts into this thread of yourn if I may.
The one thing that stands out in my mind with Tennessee is the way officials treated Johnny Majors while recovering from heart surgery. After the Vols lost three games following Majors' return, he suddenly was asked to resign during the week leading up to Tennessee's game at Memphis State. Fat Phil wasn't any help as Coach Majors was pushed out the door. Some believe that Majors was forced out in order to make room for Fulmer, who had become more popular with a majority of fans following his success as interim coach. A Knoxville News Sentinel story at the time also reported that Fulmer allegedly exchanged 26 telephone calls while Majors was recuperating from heart surgery with then-UT Athletics Board member Bill Johnson, who had played with Majors in the mid-1950s at UT.
That to me put Tennessee in a negative light with fans outside of Knoxville.
That's the worst.
The best has to be...
fernandomike getting hooked in the mouth and getting married. Nice to finally have that player off the streets at night so some of the rest of us can get a lap dance at the Nashville déjà vu tiddy bar.
Just my 2¢. Thanks for letting me vent.

That was number 2 on the worst list . I really have no idea what went down with that but I know Majors is Tennessee and was treated unfairly . I think that if he would have just stepped down after the year was over it would have been ok but the way the university did it was not right but Iam glad he has come back cause like I said he is Tennessee!

Some of the best that stick out in my mind:
1. @ Miami when we beat them 10-6 and Kellen Winslow Jr. was literally a "phuckin" soldier.
2. @ LSU when we came back from 21 down and won in OT
3. @ Georgia when we came back from 17 down and ended up whippin the crap out of them. I had UGA fans calling me in the first half talking smack. Was a marvelous day for me.
4. Tennessee-Miami 1986 Sugar Bowl. Wasn't alive for this one but my dad never quits talking about it. He went to the game and tells me the story once a year.

And some of the worst:
1. The way we lost to UCLA, Auburn, and Wyoming last year. Who does that?
2. Loss @ Florida 59-20 in 2007. Nuff said.
3. Loss @ Alabama 6-3 in 2005. because we don't know how to hold on to the damn football.

KHVols, does anyone ever mention the Clint Sturnover error in Knoxville late in the game and y'all pulled a victory outta your ass? I know Arkansas fans still remember Fulmers arrogants afterward as he acted y'all was in charge the whole way.

A few of the best for me had to be when we beat Florida in OT on our way to the National Championship, when we went to legion field, where we hadn't won at in forever, scored on the first offensive play(Manning to Kent) and went on to win 41-14, and of course seeing the team hoist the National Championship trophy.
A few of the worst had to be the entire 2008 season, seeing Fulmer show up with just plain listless teams in bowl games year after year, and when Clausen and co. blew it against LSU in the SEC chmp. game in 2001.

Yeah I know. sportsgirl is his wife. But aren't you the one at déjà vu that gave him personal lap dances when he suppose to be over at the Paradox's watchin the game? You know sportsgirl is packing heat don't you? You better axe fernandomike. He knows.

I think they were right on the money about the best, there were some loses that hurt almost as bad as the lsu loss.

We mention it but we don't like to talk about it. UT was lucky to be in the national championship game but the fact of the matter is how many teams can you actually name that did it without a little bit of luck? We got the ring and a BCS title and that is all that matters. I do not remember Fulmers arrogance after the game though.

Another "best" for me was when THE VOLS went down to the swamp and won in Spurrier's last matchup with THE VOLS as gators coach, remember that? Travis Stephens just ran crazy that day. Also the comeback in South Bend, 'nuff said.
