Tennessee Volunteers quarterback Jonathan Crompton received death threats in 2008 - ESPN

Man, those Vol fans really love their team, huh?

Sometimes I felt like strangling our QB's when they threw interceptions but I would never think about killing them. These Vol fans are really do or die fans.

I have had many discussions with Mike and Ted concerning their anger management.

That's pretty twisted. Goes to show you how far gone some "fans" are today. When Terrance Edwards dropped the pass against Florida a few years ago, fans called him every name in the book. Despite everything he's done for UGA.

Wow, I thought the article was going to be about opposing teams' fans... not UT fans. It probably happens everywhere though, if a program is really struggling, and it's a program that isn't accustomed to losing like that.

Probably true, but to my knowledge it has not happened anywhere else recently. This is sad and very embarrassing.

up here at tOSU, they had a player drop a game-winning TD pass in the end zone at Texas 4 or 5 years ago. he got death threats, too. it was revolting.
