Given High Fives: 342 Rep Power: 1691 | What if The 3rd Saturday in October was reserved for homecoming? .
This article about how the SEC distributes TV revenue made me think. (I know, I know, it's about time... but hear me out). More and more teams now have a huge financial incentive (and a tad of pressure from CBS and ESPN) to schedule highly marketable teams and drop the easy win patsy.
So how about tossing out the conventional wisdom of scheduling a patsy for homecoming?
How much national attention would be generated if "The 3rd Saturday in October," otherwise known as the Alabama vs Tennessee game, was reserved for homecoming year in and year out?
Can you imagine the merchandise that would sell if "The 3rd Saturday in October" was copyrighted? After everything is said and done, more is said than done. Defy Conventional Wisdom - Noah |
