Looking for a boost to the offense, it seems as if the coaching staff is consdering getting Erik Ainge back in the line-up. Speaking at the Knoxville QB Club, OC Randy Sanders talked about the probability of playing Erik when the Vols travel down to Tuscaloosa.

"Sanders said he was unsure whether Ainge would start or whether he would enter the game three or four series in, but added, "He's too good a football player to be standing on the sidelines."

As I seem to recall, the last time Erik Ainge was on the field, he threw a int for a touchdown out of the endzone @LSU. I do not care if the Vols need a jumpstart on offense, you do not bring him back for his first live game action after his LSU struggles the best defense in the SEC on their home field. It looks like it is going to get uglier, before it gets any better.

As I said in the other thread Phil Fulmer has created a monster with his QB controversy. You don't continue to change QB's like this. He needs to pick one and stick with them through the rest of the season. Ainge or Clausen needs to be playing. The smart move for the future is just put Ainge out there at this point and let him get experience and confidence and learn how to overcome his struggles. Clausen MAY be a better choice to win now, but he needs to decide one way or the other.

Down 2 games in the SEC east and not looking good to have a chance......I'd go with Ainge and just suck it up through the rest of the year. If he struggles, he struggles but let the kid play and get the snaps now instead of somewhat an "unknown" next season...

He can keep switching 'em up all he wants... it'll make our game that much easier if the offense is in disarray from continuous QB switches.
