This is a first for me... [take note]I DON'T LIKE TO PREDICT ANYTHING, I AM A REALIST!
BUT HERE IT GOES !!!!
I am going out ON A LIMB HERE and Predict USC to win 7 regular season games... and be positioned to accept a bowl game before the "Klem & Son" game.
That game may well be the difference between a major or minor bowl, but I see the USC playing in a Bowl Game SOMEWHERE, with a good first year record for SOS'S COCKS !
Politicians should be required to wear uniforms like NASCAR. At least the TAXPAYERS would know who their corporate sponsors are !

I hope your right Larry. I think we are poised for a big year next year. Our schedule this year is brutal. Next year, our schedule is much more forgiving.

Well you can expect SOS to bring in some beef this and every recruting season from now on.
He loaded up with speed to start off and that trend will continue, with a bunch of beef to add into the mix.

Under Holtz there was very little in the way of skilled recievers, but but he had some beef to run the QB DRAW!!!! This actually will this years team.

I agree. We have what we need on the starting teams RIGHT NOW to be successful. As Spurrier says, no excuses. We need some depth on the lines, but if we can get through with no major injuries there, we should be fine. I still say this team is going to be better than people think. The offense seems to be coming around more and more every day, and sounds like now the timing is JUST off. QB's throwing the ball just a touch late. There is plenty of time to get that down before the first game. Spurrier said today they have been watch CF and UGA films, but the game plan would not be put in till the week of the game.

I don't mind him getting a red-shirt this year, but I'd rather see him in uniform....

Cook had a stress fracture in his foot his senior season of high school. Thats why he wasn't as highly recruited. Maybe thats what you heard

LOL

Well, here's MY bold prediction:

[I notice everyone's been sort of writing Blake Mithell off in favor of some of the new guys, largely in response, I would imagine, to his lack of execution in Holtz's antiquated passing system, whereby receivers run unsophisticated pass patterns as decoys to the running game. Who could succeed in a system of that nature?!]

I predict that Blake shows why he was rated the #11 QB in the nation and, guiding a REAL passing attack, becomes the next great quarterback at USC!!
(At least as great as Phil Petty, anyway--in other words, highly competent, which is something we have lacked, consistent QB execution, since Petty graduated.)

i hate to disagree with a fellow gamecock...but I still think Mitchell is a temporary fix. I havent seen him play since the spring game, so maybe he's improved a lot. I think when Cade starts warming up to the system Spurrier will make it a two qb system. If you look at the stats all our qb's combined equal one really good qb (i think it was like 20-31 for 230 yards). I'll gladly takie that over 90 yards passing last year

Hey, I don't mind being wrong. I'll gladly smile in the face of 8 or 9 wins (or actually, any kind of success, at all), and I don't care whose arm(s) we ride them on!

I agree about the pathetic 90 yards thing. Do you recall when, even if we had nothing else, we always had a respected, even feared, QB? Suggs, Grantz, Bass, Mitchell, Hold, Ellis, Fuller, Tanneyhill, etc., and that's just in the last 30 years. WE NEED A COMPETENT QB!!!
