Gamecocks Head to Athens for Saturday SEC Showdown South Carolina opens Southeastern Conference play on Sept. 12, as it travels to Athens, Ga., to face longtime rival Georgia on a Saturday night "Between the Hedges" at Sanford Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. with a national television audience watching on ESPN2.The Gamecocks are 1-0 after a hard-fought 7-3 victory at NC State on Sept. 3.
