SECTalk.com will host three football pick 'em contests for 2009-2010:
-2009 SEC Football Regular Season (including Championship game)
-2009-10 College Football Bowl Season
-2009-10 NFL Regular Season and Playoffs
All games have been submitted for the 2009 SEC Football Regular Season and NFL Regular Season pools. The rest obviously cannot be entered until the matchups are known. This is not a spread based contest, you simply pick the winner of each game. To get to the Picks page, click "Quick Links" in the navigation bar, and select "Pick 'Ems" at the end of the drop-down menu. There is also a reminder box on the sidebar on just about every page throughout the site. You can get to the current week's Pick 'Ems by following the included link.
Picking Schedule
You should submit your Week 1 SEC picks before 10 P.M. (CST) Wednesday, September 2nd to accomodate the Thursday night game. Every subsequent week's picks are due the night previous the first game of that week. We anticipate having several more Thursday night matchups due to the new ESPN media rights deal so picks will be due on Wednesday nights in those cases. Otherwise they will be due on Friday nights at 10.
Week 1 NFL Picks are due at 10 P.M. (CST) Wednesday, September 9th because of the Thursday night matchup. Just like in SEC pool, all subsequent weeks will close the night prior to the first game of the week (Saturday nights at 10.)
Participation
Any registered user may register in any and all contests. However, only members with 100 or more posts will be eligible for prizes. Furthermore, ties for prizes will be broken by post count.

The College Football Bowl Season and NFL Playoff Pools will be announced in this thread when time comes.
Just as in the past, Gamecock_Fan will be handling all Pick 'Ems contests. Major props go out to him. If you have any questions regarding the contest, feel free to contact the either of us.
Folks, I tried to double check to make sure I didn't make any errors as I put in all the games, but just in case, if you see any errors in the games, let me know and I'll try to correct ASAP. Good luck to all.
Forgive me if I sound dumb but I haven't played before... where do we make the picks?
It is lots of fun. Below is an excerpt form Benny's original post telling how to make your picks:

Or, if you want, you can click this link and it should get you there:
I went ahead and submitted what I think is going to be the results for the entire year. this is going to be my own little way of seeing how close I really am

Should be interesting to see how you do. Cianne did that last year and is doing it this year too, I think. He came out fairly well. Maybe you'll end up winning the whole thing.

That's worked before. I'm ashamed to pick the NFL since I don't follow it, but I'm going to try and get interested.
I'll be joining in this year, hopefully I remeber to do them week by week. I'll probably just go ahead and choose a coupld of weeks after watching the 1st and 2nd games.

What works for me is to pick a few weeks in advance, and then if I remember, check my picks a few days before each week's games (and make any necessary changes). That way, you'll have your picks in regardless, and can stay in the running. Cianne's way of making the entire season's picks is a good way to make sure your picks are in, but I'd probably try to make changes throughout the season (which may be good or bad). However, you'll have to make sure to make your playoff picks (for the NFL) and SECCG pick at the end since those games will have to be entered when they are determined.
OK folks. This coming week is Week 1 of the SEC Football Pick 'Ems. Get those picks in by 10:00 PM Wednesday (or you'll miss out on the first week). The first game is Thursday night.
