Uhh...?

If Alabama loses, then they lose. It won't make me any less of a fan.

Yep. It was my senior year at Bama. We were preseason #3 too. It was beyond painful. Capped off with that 9-0 loss to Auburn in the sleet and freezing rain. Even the AU fans were miserable during that one! Not as miserable as us though....

Yes, I will be on suicide watch if Alabama loses a game this year. Hell, I'm forced to wear a strait jacket during any Alabama game.

Before you post something about kicking Ole Miss's arse I will go ahead and admit that you did 22-3. The main reason for this is that I have a few friends that are "die hard" elephant fans that just fell off of the face of the earth when Bama lost the SEC Championship game last year.

Lose interest AGAIN? Who the hell lost interest to begin with, other then your friends.

I was unable to go to the Sugar Bowl last year however from friends that went, they said it was a home game for Bama. So apparently not many lost interest in Bama.

I can only speak for myself, but I am certainly not going to lose interest in my Alma Mater. Hell, win or lose any of the remaining games, I am very excited about the direction we are heading. Recruiting is going well again this year and only points to more success.

And for the record, I think the word you mean to use was disappointed. I think every Bama fan will be disappointed if we lose to Florida because that means no SEC Championship and no national title chance. Heck, I have never seen someone happy after a loss except for maybe some ND fans after the Bush Push game. I will be disappointed with a loss, but I sure as hell won't lose interest.....I never will.

You're getting answers and coming back with cutting remarks or don't seem happy with the answers. The Bama fans around here didn't hide. We didn't hide after Florida nor Utah. We got beat. Plain and simple. Just because we get beat doesn't mean we don't support our team. Speaking of which, I haven't seen you posting much at all. Were you hiding ?

PS- tell your "buddies" they're not much of a fan if they run after a loss. Bama doesn't need'em.

This kinfolk character is obviously just trying to stir up the Bama fanbase.

No, I want a Bcs win for the team lol.

I didn't lose interest last year either. Preseason before the Clemson game if I knew we would go to the sugar bowl I would be excited as hell, but we were a 4th quarter from getting to that Nc (me, and everyone around me thought we would pull out the win against Florida).

If we end up playing Tcu in the sugar, we will have to be ready cause they are a legit team.

I can't speak for anyone else. I can only say that for me it wasn't necessarily the lost opportunity of playing for the NC, but the idea of playing a team that we had no history with, no way to get excited about. Had we been playing someone like Penn St. or USC, we might have felt differently. It was just hard for me to get excited about Utah. I was afraid the players might feel the same way, but I hoped the coaches would handle it if they did. I think I learned something about motivation that night. I think we all did.

I don't remember seeing any drop off in attention to The Crimson Tide after the last two games last year. The fans I am around were excited, because we were not expecting The Crimson Tide, at the start of last season, to have done as well as did. We were stoked in anticipation for this year and next year, when The Process was supposed to be in full force.

And the barn hiring Gene Chizik certainly helped our joy..

do you know what it means when someone says "die hard" fan? if you say yes then you are lying

cuz the fans you described would be the antithesis of "die hard"

I cannot answer the question, as I did not lose all interest after last year's SEC Championship loss.

That game was just miserable. I was about 9 or 10 years old. My brother was crying to leave the game because he was cold and I was crying to stay. My dad said, once they go up by more than one score, then we are gone. So when they made it 9, he had to drag me down the spiral. That game was SO cold and wet.

I became an Alabama fan as a little kid in the late 70s and have been one year in and year out ever since, i we lose a game or two it wont change anything.

I think the OP is talking about bandwagon type fans who become rabid when the team is doing great things but can't take a few disappointing loses, and jump off the bandwagon quickly sometimes.
