Here is the link http://www.commercialappeal.com/mca/...733079,00.html Here is the rumor "3. When the Southeastern Conference gathers for its annual spring business meetings this week in Destin, Fla., the league again will set a record for revenue sharing. MDR has been told that the conference will split $115 million, which is about $4 million to $5 million more than last year. The one thing that the conference needs to continue to work on is its image as a renegade league that doesn't mind breaking a rule or two or 10 or 20. SEC commissioner Mike Slive has made it his platform since coming into the league several years ago to have a league free of schools on probation. Slive remains steadfast in his goal. Here's hoping he gets there, but erasing cheating in recruiting is hard. MDR has had a couple of football coaches tell him that one coach currently in the league was turned in by seven different schools (and not all in the SEC) for alleged recruiting violations."

| There was a recent article in either The Sporting News or Sports Illustrated (I apologize for not having a link or even remembering exactly where I read it) that said that the NCAA plans on investigating and ultimately regulating (at least more specifically and tightly than it currently does)text messaging. Basically, this implied that coaches using text messaging as a recruiting tool were taking advantage of a loophole in the rules. Rules, much like statutes, can't be written to take into account all contingencies that may arise from things like advance technology, changes..etc (although they try). If text messages were used I feel confident that the coaches knew they were violating the purpose or spirit of the rules if not the letter of the rules. That being said...it wasn't a violation when they did it, but they probably won't be able to do it in the future. | ||

| It's being reported on Rivals site that it is orgeron. From what I hear, if the NCAA does get involved its merely going to be a slap on the wrist.... It apparently stems from contact with potential recruits outside the time frame allowed.. | ||

NCAA needs to get a life. Next time they go after a big school they will more then likely see it end up in Federal court. College football is a big business now and the time is near when the courts will recognize it as such. King
