SEC Recruiting
Ah, Recruiting, Everyone wants to talk about recruiting.
I'm not sure how Lane Kiffin is doing anything different from anybody else. Florida and Alabama have guys they are still going after that have already committed to different schools. You people need to get your head out of CLK's ass and start looking at the big picture.
Sabo, make no mistake about it, Kiffin is guaranteeing these kids playing time and I think that is very obvious.
Current Gator commit Solomon Patton has been getting recruited very hard by Tennessee but, the kid has told Tennessee, no thanks. Patton knows that Coach Meyer gets his play makers the ball.
Also, current Gator commit QB Trey Burton has been recruiting for the Gators. He is playing a huge role in this class.
Chaz Green (not publicly committed to any school), he is being promised PT and that is the main reason he's liking Tennessee but, this isn't something Urban Meyer can't overcome. He has been to UF on more than several occasions and I think he will make more trips to UF.
IF he goes to Tennessee, Florida has a good chance to replace him with a player that Kiffin would trade Green for right now! That's all I'm going to say about that.
Matt Elam is another one that has been and will be a Florida Gator. His family ties to Coach Meyer is to strong for that not to happen and I really think his brother Abram gave Florida some help with this one.
Take it from some that has talked to Chris Dunkley personally, he is all Gator. His family (Big Gator fans) and Trey Burton's family really hit it off at FNL this summer. He is not as close friends with Richardson as Tennessee wants people to think. He doesn't have a problem at all with the spread and whoever thinks that, is way off the target there. He knows that Billy Gonzalez at UF knows how to get guys in the NFL. Louis Murphy and Percy Harvin are proving that point right now.

Most everything you're saying is true and I agree with.
Kiffin is selling a lot of these guys on playing time. Especially OL. And when our roster is as stacked as yours we will change our strategy and still get the guys we need to get. We are in a situation now where we have more holes than you do and need to get a bunch of guys to fill those holes.
On Green, the only guy you could be talking about is Seantrel Henderson and IMO he stays up north. I don't see any player that you could possibly be in on that would be an upgrade to Chaz Green.
I don't expect to land Dunkley, but the evidence you give as to why he will be a Gator is questionable at best. You never know with these guys. Many different people I have spoken with have said that UT will be in it til the end. I don't expect to land him, but we are in it way more than he has been saying publicly.
Both UF and UT are trying to recruit the best players in the country. That they would cross paths on many occasions seems pretty obvious to me. I'm also sure that Kiffin was previously familiar with every player committed to the Gators since they are all topnotch. What I'm saying is we don't need to look to the Gators or Bama for info on who is a great player. We have EXCELLENT talent evaluators.
While calling every single player on the gators commit list is a bit over-the-top for me, I understand the strategy of forcing Meyer to work hard to protect his own turf. At any rate, I do agree with GH. The Gators are gonna get their players even if the Vols pull a few from them. I happen to think that we'll get ours too though. Eventually, that should lead to games where the talent disparity isn't as big as it was this season.
dang hunter, i cant high five you anymore times.. your just killing them. lol
By the way sabo, im not TRYING to prove you wrong but on rivals, your main website over espn, anyway it has Jeff Luc Inside Linebacker. and then A.J. Johnson Inside Linebacker. Could one of thoses guys change to Outside yes, but Im right as of now.

We are recruiting Johnson as an OLB. ESPN lists him as an OLB. Not sure what you're seeing.
Speculate all you want...the truth is, the game wasn't nearly as close as the score indicated. The Gators were never close to losing that game...if you can't admit that, it's you that's the homer. I don't care if the Vols had Joe Montana, you would've gotten beat...plain and simple.
Your lack of objectivity is really telling in terms of the vein in which we should view the rest of your thoughts.

This is truly funny...you make a BS statement and are proven wrong by the player's own words...so you backtrack...comedic. Riley, by his own words, coveted a UF offer. Just by offering the Gators are at the top of his list. You making BS proclamations that UF won't land Riley is childish and shows what happens when you're proven, yet again, to be wrong. As far as Meyer's speed dial...he don't even need a phone...he can visit dozens of the nation's top players without leaving the state.
What BS statement? Like I told you, I am perfectly familiar with everything Dietrich Riley has had to say. When you get an offer from the world champions, yes, that's exciting. That buzz wears off though and there's no way you would have caught up with UT, USC, or ND on Riley. You got in too late. I don't give a crap what he says publicly. But AGAIN, and you seem to skip the intent of my posts and proceed on trying to discredit my opinion, (didn't you learn in debate to focus on the issues because to do otherwise gives the impression that you are grasping for straws?) My point had nothing to do with whether you were in on Riley or not and had everything to do with the fact that Elam is a superior athlete and safety.

And who are you taking from Florida? You guys get Teague, a Tennessee resident, to switch to the state school...and Newkeys...neither of which were at the top of our board...and now, you're proclaiming it's gonna be a regular deal for UT to take our commits?? Who have you taken? Elam is 100% Gator...and Riley, by his own words, would love to be a Gator. You are reaching my man...and you really sound foolish.
We will see who all we get that Florida wants on signing day. There's no reaching and just because you say something sounds foolish doesn't make it so. You would have been spouting this nonsense about how we weren't getting Teague or Pete last year, and probably were and look how that turned out. Whether they are on the top of your board or not is irrelevant. They were on there and we took them.

Again...who has UT taken from the top of UF's recruiting boards? No one. Elam is our top guy...he's 100% committed. Riley's HS coach and Meyer are friends...that's the only reason Riley's in the picture. Like I said prior, if Laney boy is more concerned with "hurting" Florida than recruiting the right players for his team...you guys better get use to 7-5 seasons. It may appear to you that UT has a chance to steal all of Florida's coveted recruits...but I assure you...it only appears that way to you.
Didn't Lane Kiffin calling every single one of your commits tell you that he doesn't give a crap WHERE they are on your board?? The simple fact that they are on it is enough. Perspective is a bitch, aint it? You say we aren't going to get any players you want, the rest of the world says Luc and Chaz Green will end up at UT. But yeah, it only appears that way to me.

Thanks in advance...
Lemonier, Moses - not sure
Jones - too close to call. Could stay in-state but lets see how his visit to ND is and if he visits TN. I still think he could end up at FSU.
Terrence Mitchell - USF???
Luc - TN
James - TN
Chaz G - likely TN at this point

BTW...even though I'm 100% certain that Elam will be a Gator...how can you possibly believe that just because he's ranked higher, he'll be a better player than Riley??? You have no way of possibly knowing that...get a grip, Sabo.
Following recruiting is fun, I'll admit...but when it leads you to a point where you feel the need to fabricate sources, conjure BS info and make fictitious proclamations...you may have a problem.
100% certain? Who do you think you are fooling? There are still a couple of months before Elam enrolls. There is no way possible to be 100% confident he will be a Gator until he enrolls in school. Apparently you aren't as familiar with this process as you pretend to be, and must not have been paying attention last year. I spit on your 100% that's a joke. I think he will end up at Florida as well, but I wouldn't say 100% on anyone on our commit list. It's impossible. Anything could happen.
Elam is the top player in Florida on a lot of schools' board. He is the top safety in the nation. It's obvious that you guys have him at the top evidenced by the fact that you told him you wouldn't and will not pursue any other safeties in this class. I'm not talking about how they end up after their eligibility is expired. Use common logic here for Monte's sake. Elam > Riley. I'm talking about who the better prospect is right now, and you'd be an idiot if you didn't know it was Elam. You can't be for real with some of this.
Why would I fabricate sources? Have you seen the quotes I have from Chaz Green? I have about 10 more recruits I have quotes from and you won't find them anywhere on the internet. That's because they were given to me from a guy who has the credentials to talk to these guys. He actually has a relationship with some of these prospects and he's young so they trust him with stuff that you won't find anywhere on a website. I have half a dozen more people that have connections in one way or another to the program. Why would I fabricate that? You're just sounding bitter now. Did you read that article? There are about 20 different facts in there that you won't find anywhere else and I could have not possibly have known if I didn't have someone with a connection.

Oh, my bad. I missed the part where you said Rivals. Doesn't matter though. I said that I don't pay any heed to ESPN's rankings -- those are crap. I obviously don't think there is bias in what position they project a player at, come on. You Gators don't appear to be very bright.
Besides, we are recruiting him at OLB. Doesn't matter what Rivals says. They have Ted Meline listed as a WR and there's no way that he even starts out at WR for us.

I'm totally objective...I was at the game...I watched it from start to finish...there wasn't a Gator in the stadium that was actually "worried". And it would've been better for the Gators had UT threw the ball...our strongest unit on defense is the secondary.
And...I've never claimed to be an expert on recruiting. I have a couple of premium memberships and a friend who hears things...that's about it. What I find funny with you, Sabo...if you're as knowledgeable regarding recruiting, as you proclaim to be, then you should realize that, behind closed doors, these kids tell every school exactly what they want to hear.
It is humorous that you act as though you have all the answers...but when someone else posts "quotes" from the player himself, you write it off as "what he says in public". I think it's ridiculous to put stock in anything these guys say before NSD...I just think it's funny how you only put stock in the "pro-Vol" talk from these players. As far as Elam...I only say that he's 100% Gator because of his family. Of course, CJ Spiller's family was 100% Gator as well, so there's an exception to every rule.
Also...there's no such thing as "getting in too late" with regards to recruits...heck, Urban has signed several top players at the last minute...and let's not forget...it's not even November...most kids are still playing in their HS seasons...most all of them are still taking official visits.
On a final note...regarding Kiffin's infatuation with Gator recruiting...f$u started playing these same games 5-6 years ago...going after our recruits...getting recruits that committed to us to lie and pull the switcheroo on NSD...worked out real good for them...
