SEC Recruiting
Ah, Recruiting, Everyone wants to talk about recruiting.
If I'm not mistaken, you guys were recruiting him as a TE.
Surprised Sabo hasn't already posted about this, because he committed earlier in the day.
Honestly didn't know what we were recruiting him as but usually Sabo is quick on his feet with these type of things. He may have posted it somewhere else but I didn't see it. Nonetheless, I thought I would pass it on.
If these three committments go through about how many spots do we have left to fill?
Max of 9. I think you will see some shuffling around a little as some propects fall off in favor of others. Pat Harris is not likely to qualify and I think they are in on some guys that they like better than those on the commit list.
We can backcount 2 Early enrollees this year and sign a class of 28 more. Only 25 of those can make it in to school which means 3 would either not qualify or greyshirt. Of course we could sign less.
Watch this one closely. I think I've mentioned him before, but Kelcy Quarles (whose dad played for South Carolina and is a current USC commit) will be visiting Knoxville again with his father -- this time for a game. He was impressed enough the first time to nearly switch his commitment to UT.
I don't think you will see such a switch happen until late in the process if it does, but this is one to keep an eye on.
Quarles is the best player on the Gamecock's commit list and the #2 DT in the nation.
Quote:
Greenwood (S.C.) defensive lineman Kelcy Quarles has been committed to South Carolina for almost a year now, but there is something about Tennessee that Quarles just can't stop thinking about. "It's just something about Tennessee that you can't get out your mind. It's just crazy, I don't know, it's just something about Tennessee," the 6-foot-4, 250-pound defensive tackle said.
