Man, I just don't see why everyone gets this "McElroy is a weak link" stuff. This actually gives me confidence going into the weekend.

Yeah but the real keys to winning for Florida are shutting down Ingram AND Richardson. The key for Florida is making Tebow beat us with his arm. Whoever does the other successfully will win the game most likely.

Force McElroy to pass being a key to a UF victory? LOL Wasn't that Auburn's plan too?

I'll be fine with that too. Dude can carry the team no doubts.

That's fine and not the point I was trying to make....

Seems like a lot of teams keys was to make G-Mac pass to beat us and that hasn't worked out at all. Like the other boys above me have stated, if G-Mac needs to pass he's going to do it. He is not the weak link by any means.

Force him to pass and he will complete, he can do it and has proved it time after time.

So the point you're trying to make is no matter how good the d-backs G-Mac can handle it? I'd say that borders on blind homerism.

Wrong.

The point I'm trying to make is that so many times this year I've heard, force G-Mac to pass and we can win. How has that worked out so far? If that is your key to victory keep on dreaming because he has proved every team wrong on that point thus far.

I'd say that borders on facts.

Thank you, come again.

And he has yet to play a team the caliber of UF.

I'll say it like this, I have no doubt about the talent in UF's defensive backfield, but to stop the running game, especially one like Bama's, you typically have to bring more guys up and that typically means more one on one coverage. I dont care who your DB's are, you cant cover Julio, Maze and Hanks (not to mention Peek) one on one all game without somebody getting loose and GMac has proven time and time again he can hit the open man. I have faith in the kid. Besides, havent some other QBs had success against UF this year? Maybe not, just asking.

BTW, Bama's D aint too shabby.

No, the point he's trying to make is that all these fans seem to think that the key to beating Bama is shutting down Ingram and forcing McElroy to beat the opponent as if he's a weak link. He's not a weak link. He can take a team down the field if he needs to. Is he the best QB in the nation? No, but no one is making that argument. We know he can lead a team down field because we've watched the games. Yes, Florida's secondary is the best we've seen and likely will see all year, but I still have confidence that if he needs to, McElroy can take the team on his back. He's a good decision maker and manager, and he doesn't make a lot of mistakes if he has time to pass, he can pick a defense apart. The key for Bama is making sure the OL gives him the time he needs to do that.

And that's irrelevant to my point that he has proved doubters wrong thus far no matter the caliber.

Either way I don't give a damn what an Auburn fan or a UK fan thinks, ya'll go ahead and break out your Florida shakers and keep on hating and we'll keep on proving doubters wrong.

What I say doesn't matter either, the game Saturday will speak for itself.

Julio had 124 yds...64 of which came on one play. Julio didn't catch a TD...and after that long play, he was contained. I realize Julio is a year older...but so is our secondary. The same fellas that held him in check last season will be lining up across from him Saturday.

We sometimes seem to forget this is his first season starting and he has yet to make a bad decision that almost cost us a game.

With that being said, we'll find ways to make the running game work. Trent Richardson being the number one work horse won't hurt.
Greg ain't gonna beat the Gators with his arm...you and I both know it. This will be the toughest defense the young starter has ever lined up against...and the biggest game of his life.

IMO, If Bama doesn't rush for 150-200 yds, they will lose.

Defensively? UT's not too far off the mark I dont believe. I'd take Eric Berry over anybody on UF's entire D. I think LSU may be close too but I may be wrong.

I'd have to agree. Berry is superior to any DB in the conference. Peterson on LSU is probably next. Haden I'd put at 3rd best.

UF has a good secondary, but to say Bama hasn't faced a good secondary yet is pretty inaccurate.
