Sectalk USA Today/Coaches Top 25 11-29-2009
The Gators surged in the Coaches poll this week, after the beating they gave in-state rival FSU. The top six teams in the USA TODAY coaches' poll remained the same this week, but No. 1 Florida picked up six more first-place votes to total 53 in all.

No. 2 Texas, which had four first-place votes last week, and third-ranked Alabama, which was placed No. 1 on eight ballots last week, each received three first-place votes in that latest tally.

The top three teams are followed by TCU, Cincinnati and Boise State.

Stanford should not have broken in for beating Notre Dame.

Well, they aren't really just breaking in. They appeared at #17 when they beat the sh*t out of USC, and then fell out again when they had that off day against Cal.

Yeah, I know...and just because they beat a 6-6 team doesn't mean they should jump back in the top 25.

They are 8-4.. at this point in the year.. 8-4 teams fill out the bottom end of the top 25.. you don't really have a grievance here?

Not really...other than the fact that I hate the Pac 10.

But in all seriousness there are other teams with similar records that I would rank before Stanford. Like Northwestern, Rutgers, to name a couple. Beating a very average ND (and barely beating them at that) isn't worth jumping back in IMO.

This is the time of the year when we argue about who should be in the national championship game, award winners, etc. Who is rounding out the top 25 shouldn't be a big concern Robzirra.

Hating the Pac 10 is a year round thing for me though.

I know we all enjoy rankings, but we all know the only rankings that matter are the ones after all games have been played- hopefully Carolina can beat whoever they're matched up with in their bowl game and finished ranked to go into the offseason strong and land a top 10 recruiting class!

Clemson is about where they belong, still looks bad after we donminated them and embarrassed them yesterday that they are still basically ranked higher than we are, makes abslutely no sense.

I know you hate Georgia, but at least have the decency to highlight our school in the votes section.
