Fidy bucks says the vols will get robbed in Oxford and Kiffin will foster another conspiracy theory on Sunday.

As I pointed out earlier, it's difficult to not pay attention when so many of the comments are some of the most outrageous and absurd things you've ever heard a professional coach say. It's almost like seeing a more terrible car crash every morning on your way to work... just when you think you can't be shocked any more, you're wrong.

Orgeron left us so loaded with talent that we have virtually no depth at OL, one RB on the roster, no depth in the secondary, one QB on the roster, no TEs, and very little depth at the LB position. But he did stockpile a bunch of defensive lineman where he underachieved drastically while coaching them.

What Orgeron did leave us loaded with is APR penalties thanks to his jackassery causing players to leave the team and recruiting academic risks that flunked right out.

As long as you agree he is an arrogant jacka$$ we have no quarrel. we had that under Pitino. It is what it is.

I'm sorry but I never knew that claiming the opposing D-Line has some NFL caliber players and that you wish you had a few of them as being one of the most absurd and outrageous comments anyone has ever seen.

Maybe so, but What I'm getting at is why do you care what he is? If he's arrogant and proud then he will get what's comin to him. I didn't say it was our fault, I said it has been blown out of proportion. I can't stand arrogant people any more than the next guy but I could find nothing wrong with that article. I appreciate his comment that we have NFL caliber players along the front. I take more issue with fools like Chris Low who make the "loaded" comment as if we have some sort of super squad 22 deep on each squad thanks to Orgeron when it's as far from the truth as imaginable.

I'm not in the habit of throwing money away. Besides, I've got the patented Kiffin Routine down pat.

1. Prior to game, give absurd interview making next opponent look like Giant that can't be beaten.

2.Make up excuses in advance and call own team weak by comparison, because of old staff.

3. Following win, take credit for beating best team in college football history, and declare UT back.

4. In the event of a loss, blame officials, former staff, and own players that former staff recruited. Then point to pre-game interview, and say, "See, I told you so.".

Understood. My point would merely be that this guy has already burned through all of his "benefit of the doubt".

Oops, last thing we needed in this thread was a blast of honesty from a fan of the team who's supposedly in such great shape according to Kiffin. I suspected Ole Miss fans might not see things the same as Kiffin; but the guy is a shameless self-promoter, so...

Every coach builds up the opposing team the week before, it's something you just do. Kiffen's interviews, however, are thrown around for people to see while others are not. I realize this is due to what he's said before, but this thread is about this article and there is nothing wrong with it.

1. Prior to game, give interview highlighting the great things the other team possesses including certain players and coaches.

2. Give obvious compliments to the other team so that obsessive fans of other teams can search for them and turn them around in every way they can while you and everyone else sits back and laughs.

3. Following win, still point out areas we need to get better at and emphasize the 24-hour rule so that the team forgets about the previous game win or lose and begins to focus on next week.

4. In the event of a loss, stick behind your team and again enforce the 24-hour rule. Emphasize areas in which the team needs to get better. Give your all for Tennessee

Fixed a few spots for ya.

Personally, I think what he's said before gives us an idea of what Kiffin's intent is. The prior quotes provide context. Sure, if you took this interview by itself, with no prior history of caustic and self-serving comments, you might reach the conclusion that what he said is harmless, but not well-put. However, we DO have a history to base current and future opinions on, as Royal D pointed out... that's how we know what he says isn't innocent.

I was just perusing the SEC blog on ESPN, and found what I read pretty sorry. Other people don't have to feel that way; it's just a topic for discussion, but few folks seem to agree with Kiffin's assessment, or how it was delivered.

Psycologically, however, it is easier for you to find this sorry whereas I don't.

You were already at a disposition towards Tennessee before he got there, and He made it worse.

I like Tennessee, and when I read it, I simply just think "Ok, boring 'pre-game' talk." There are still points in his history that I don't have a problem with, while there are others that I do.

That's where you're wrong. I actually respected UT and Fulmer before Kiffin's arrival. My cousin just signed to play a sport there last year.

Here's what I really think: Kiffin has the ability to make his assessments and give his opinions without laying the blame or shortcomings at somebody else's feet every time... he won't take accountability for anything. It is possible to give your opinion about Ole Miss and their players, without the last part that clips Fulmer and his own kids. And that's what he does every single time. He makes his point, but can't seem to resist taking a little shot at somebody at the end... every f*cking time. And that's what I find childish and immature.

It's like he doesn't want anybody to get the impression that anything that might happen could possibly be his fault; so he launches a preemptive strike outlining everything he's up against, and the "disaster" he was left, just in case things don't go his way. To a certain extent, I can understand it, because he took a beating before, during, and after his stint with Oakland; and now he's over-compensating by trying to make sure folks know all about the various problems (some real, some embellished or exaggerated on) he has so nobody thinks he screwed the pooch. The problem is, most folks see what he's trying to do, and have followed college ball enough to know that he's full of sh*t much of the time, and he's not really in as bad a shape as he makes out.

Putting that, and his previous unwarranted and abrasive comments together is as simple as 2+2.
