I wish I could high five you ten times!This pisses me off more than anything! I'm sick and tired of traditions being stripped at Ole Miss cause people are so sensitive! There is no racist meaning behind "the south will rise again" What is so wrong with the South trying to get above the lowest wrung on the ladder? People want to keep us down. I hate racism, but I hate people who try to put racism in everything even more!

91 I understand how you feel about tradition. Some are hard to let go but in this world ya have to pick you battles and this is not one to pick. Crossing the line one too many times is what happened. Some individuals just could not be asked not to do something. They had to prove they could do it anyway. So here we are without it now. This is just one more reminder that it is a privilage not a right to be an Ole Miss fan. Not one of us is bigger than the institution.

I also don't see how replacing "the south will rise again" with "to hell with LSU" is any better? Lets go from a potentially "racist" line to damning 20,000 people to fiery damnation.

I love the last line of your post. "Leave us alone, it's what started the Civil War in the first place." You do understand that saying "the South will Rise again" implies right? That the South will rise back up to its place of power and again succeed from the Union so it can continue its backwards (read: Slavery) ways. You're saying that the statement which implies another civil war should be left alone to avoid another civil war

He's referring to "From Dixie With Love" as the tradition but the rest of your piece there applies perfectly to the garbage the students were spouting.

Guys, don't think I'm some sort of racist. I can see why some would be offended by the last line. I just hate the entire song was taken away. Sorry if I offended anyone that was not my intention by any means.
