There are too many bowl games. It's a nice thing to look forward to at the end of the season, but most bowl games up to a point have basically no relevance - these days, quite a few are just matchups between two middle-tier teams from middle-tier conferences. As we head into January, the bowls become a lot more interesting.
ONE TWO THREE FOUR FIVE DEM DA GATAS DON'T TAKE NO JIVE
No, we dont have too many bowl games. It gives more schools more time to play and practice, plus its gives us more college football. A lot of em dont have any significant relevance, but that doesnt take away from the relevance of the bigger bowl games. Plus its a way to reward the kids. They get to travel and are rewarded with gift bags with things like video games, dvds, shoes, etc.
If people dont care about em then they dont have to watch em. But its not like the bowl games are tying up ESPN channels for anything better that they could show on Dec. 19th.

Everything about the college football season that happens after the conference championship games is TERRIBLE! Not only are there 2 times too many bowl games, but the selection process for these games are ridiculous. You're likely going to have a 12-1 Houston team that posted 3 wins over BCS conference teams (OK State, TX Tech, And MS State... 2 of those on the road) and they are destined to be banished to the frieking Liberty Bowl pitted against an SEC bottom feeder who posted a sub .500 record in conference! That's a REAL problem! If the bowls were about ANYTHING other than revenue generation, they might serve a purpose. As they are, they're nothing but exhibition scrimmages. Nobody gives a crap about these games anymore. Getting invited to a bowl game USED to be an honor, but now EVERYBODY goes. It wasn't that long ago that I remember sweating out a 7-4 record as it likely wasn't good enough.... and rightly so! Hell, now a 6-6 record for a major conference team virtually guarantees a bowl game. It's garbage!
Furthermore, when was the last time even the big games meant anything? The last time the Orange Bowl was significant? It's also now a downer to lose the SECCG thanks to the fact that you're going to face an upstart mid-major in New Orleans. It's hard to get up for those games... right Bama and Georgia?? And like it or not, it's time to start including others in the mix. The Mountain West Conference has arguably been a better conference for several years now than the Big East, ACC, and even the Big 10.
Finally, the bowls need to go back to ending on New Years Day. Playing games beyond January 1st is a stupid idea and doesn't make these games any more compelling or interesting. The season's already been over for a month at this point... get on with it already.
One side note... PLEASE stop allowing FOX to broadcast any games of importance. They are TERRIBLE!!
Phyllis-But it is a big deal. You almost killed Stanley. Dwight-Yeah right! I filled him full of butter and sugar for 50 years and forced him not to exercise!
Just wanted to give you guys a heads up on two up and coming rappers. They are J-Rob and We$. They are on myspace.com/jrobandbigwes, please drop by and check them out. They are two high school students trying to bust onto the scene. RTR
Feel better now?? If you dont like em then dont watch em. And you can say that it sucks for the CUSA champ to have to play a mid-tier SEC team, but the SEC almost always wins those games. So if anything they need to be matched up against an even weaker team.

They are all a symbol of unjustice and there should be playoffs. There should only be 6 conferences while all the other schools are moved to a new division called Division 4.
There are way too many bowl games in college football. It takes away the importance of bowling and allows too many mediocre teams into the exposure. It also saves coaches' jobs, which it shouldn't.
