I honestly think the fact that bama has never had one is goig to work in his favor for sure. I know he had the big game against USC but I don't think he has had a heisman season otherwise, nor has anyone else honestly. I do think that with a big game against LSU he would easily be your frontrunner.
I think it'll take an act of lordalmightytebow for the Heisman to go to, wrongly for the second time, babyjesustebow
I kinda thought McFadden should have won it in 2007. Not saying that because you're an Arky fan either. I know Tebow put up awesome numbers that year but come on...McFadden was amazing.
Will he win it? I think if he has a huge game against LSU he can lock it up and be Bama's first Heisman winner.
Good point Robzilla, and I think Bama's offensive front can dominate LSU in the running game, especially between the tackles. Our pass protection has been awful at times, but I think with the bye week we will get back to basics. Projection: Ingram 22 carries, 158 and 2tds.RTR
A lot of times these things are just media popularity contests too. I think the media wants Bama to be good and throw all the fanfare upon them like they've done with other media darlings in the past like USC or Florida State in the 90's. I think if they beat LSU and Ingram does have even a decent game, they'll start the big push to give it to him. And by saying that I am not saying he doesn't deserve it. I think if you look at all the candidates right now, no one does more for their team than Ingram except maybe Tebow and he hasn't been as impressive as many thought this year. I don't know...it would be cool for him to win it, but I'd rather have #13 if you know what I mean.
Yes McFadden deserved the heisman in 07
Vince Young deserved it in 05
Ingram deserves to be in the running.
Tim Tebow should probably be leading this race right now.

I would have agreed with you until your last point. I don't think he should sniff even the top 3-5 right now.
He's going to need a heck of a performance against LSU and Auburn. He's had a great year, but i'm not sure it's Heisman worthy yet. I hope like hell that he gets it, but he has work to do. I think Tebow ends up getting it. He had a heisman performance last saturday even if it was against Georgia's D.

i was split on mcfadden and tebow. both had great seasons, and both were utilized in their running and passing games. and both were instrumental in team leadership and influence. i probably would have given it to mcfadden as a senior.
can they just put the heisman on hold this year
and double up next year?

Depends...does that mean Ingram can win two of them next year?

Not to split hairs, but McFadden was a junior. What pissed me off the most, however, was that the award had never gone to a sophomore, but they just decided to up and do it for Tebow. If McFadden had been white, the decision wouldn't have been close.
