The BCS leap-frogged Texas over Bama this week. That seems a bit premature to me seeing Bama had an open week. What do you think? Which team is better?
Maybe... They were certainly impressive saturday night so i have no problem with them being ranked ahead right now. Nothing they do really impacts Bama's national championship chances anyway. Bama has to take care of business in the SEC first.
Granted I haven't been watching alot of Texas football lately, but when I do I've noticed they don't seem to be too sound in running the ball... I may have just missed all the great running play when I was watching something else, but somehow I doubt it.
That being said, you bring a one dimensional offense to play an SEC defensive monster like Bama, you will be pwned. Period.
I think Alabama jumped Texas on their bye week, so it is only fitting that Texas should jump Bama on our bye week. Hopefully this can be settled on the field. If Bama wins out but loses to Florida does Bama play another Utah? I mean what's the deal with all of these Boisies and Iowas popping up everywhere?
"I don't know, we haven't played Alabama yet." -- Vince Lombardi after being asked what it felt like to be the greatest football team in the world just after winning the '66 Super Bowl.

Yes, Bama would likely play TCU, Boise, or Cincy if they won out but lost to UF.
What Texas does will not affect Bama or Flordia- both of those teams are totally in control of their own destinies. Texas has looked more impressive in the last couple weeks, and thier defense is just as good as Florida/Bama... Right now I think the top 2 teams are Texas and Bama, but I'd give Texas the edge because their offense is quite a bit better than Alabama's. They might not run the ball as well, but throwing the ball- Colt McCoy > McElroy

As much as I don't want to, I have to agree. Texas surpasses Alabama in the passing game. The defenses are both great and Alabama has the edge in the running game. I would love to see an Alabama vs Texas NCG.
#2 Alabama Crimson Tide: 10-0 (7-0) - SEC West Champions.

I'd love to see a Texas-Bama NCG. I think it would be a slobber-knocker, and the top two teams in the country would truly be playing for the national title.
