Given High Fives: 952 Rep Power: 803 | Vanderbilt should not be in the SEC. Georgia Tech...they should Ive heard this brought up by multiple people but I thought I'd start a thread on it. I think that GT would be the perfect team to add to the SEC (they used to be in the SEC)
My reason? They are already 2-0 vs the SEC this year and poised to go 3-0 vs the SEC if they beat Georgia at seasons end. I mean hell, they already proved they would be no worse than the 9th best team in the conference. They would easily be top 5 in my book.
Paul Johnson has turned that team around. They would add strength to our conference.
Who would we drop from the SEC? VANDERBILT. Think about it. They contribute almost nothing to this conference football wise. We always talk about how we like to have them for their academics...well GT is quite the academic school as well so we wouldn't drop in that department.
Also, UGA could keep their rivalry with Tech as they would be in the SEC east. They could still play at the end of every season.
As a Gator fan, I would love to play them. I'd love to see our offense vs their triple option. It truly is a triple option too as Nesbit has proven he can throw the ball as well. I mean he has thrown for 1172 yards this year. A tripe option QB usually can't get those yards in a whole season and Tech still has 3 games left. They are also in the top 10.
I'm sorry if this offends any Vanderbilt fans (luckily there si only one on this whole site) but thats the way is. Gt would bring more revenue to this conference, IMO.
What do the rest of you think? Which team should go and who should e add? |
