Default Vanderbilt should not be in the SEC. Georgia Tech...they should
Ive heard this brought up by multiple people but I thought I'd start a thread on it. I think that GT would be the perfect team to add to the SEC (they used to be in the SEC)
My reason? They are already 2-0 vs the SEC this year and poised to go 3-0 vs the SEC if they beat Georgia at seasons end. I mean hell, they already proved they would be no worse than the 9th best team in the conference. They would easily be top 5 in my book.
Paul Johnson has turned that team around. They would add strength to our conference.
Who would we drop from the SEC? VANDERBILT. Think about it. They contribute almost nothing to this conference football wise. We always talk about how we like to have them for their academics...well GT is quite the academic school as well so we wouldn't drop in that department.
Also, UGA could keep their rivalry with Tech as they would be in the SEC east. They could still play at the end of every season.
As a Gator fan, I would love to play them. I'd love to see our offense vs their triple option. It truly is a triple option too as Nesbit has proven he can throw the ball as well. I mean he has thrown for 1172 yards this year. A tripe option QB usually can't get those yards in a whole season and Tech still has 3 games left. They are also in the top 10.

I'm sorry if this offends any Vanderbilt fans (luckily there si only one on this whole site) but thats the way is. Gt would bring more revenue to this conference, IMO.

What do the rest of you think? Which team should go and who should e add?

Florida can play them anytime they want dude. But I wouldn’t recommend it because the refs might not hand you the game. Stick with the cital.

Vandy should never leave this conference. Their pretty good at basketball and baseball. Plus THEIR athletes can probably read AND write

Plus vandy played them very close

Vanderbilt should stay. The Yellow Jackets had their opportunity, but they were too good for the SEC.

Can charter schools be forced out? I think Vandy should stay, I pull for them when they aren't playing us.

Think I did read somewhere a while ago about GT kinda wishing they didn't leave. Didn't they try to get back in a while ago but were blocked? I'm not sure to how all that works though.

Why not Miami? I know UF doesn't like to leave Florida, so it would be perfect

GT left, and Vanderbilt brings academic prestige to this conference... and they aren't to bad at most sports besides football... and even then... they aren't that bad.

Why kick Vandy out?

Bring GT and someone else into the SEC.

Florida could go Independent and play Army, Navy, and Notre Dame every year. Take Oregon, Georgia Tech...or hell even Houston!

Clemson is the best fit for the SEC. They have a huge stadium, rabid football fans, and have a good history. THey also have some older rivalries with schools like USC, Clemson, and even somewhat with Auburn.

Georgia Tech had their chance and left. Their fans are pathetic when supporting the football program as well.
