Kiffin will get 4 or more years as long as he is winning, but if his first two years are bad his third year may be a "make or break" one for him. Fans can deal with bad PR as long as a coach is winning, but if the PR is bad along with the record its a pretty bad double whammy. And if UT is losing I dont see Kiffins PR getting any better.

I agree. When the dust settles and Kiffin isn't trying to incite a riot...he seems to be a very level-headed guy who's not quite as loony as we give him credit for...seems to have a good sense of humor as evidenced during the SEC MD. He's young...obviously a good recruiter...has lots of energy...and seems to have a very animated staff. I know nothing of Brown...didn't follow his recruitment...only knew that he was once committed to scUM and has/had an "adviser"...if he's as good as billed, he'll be gone in 3 years. Kiffin will get a longer leash IMO.

I agree. I think he'll have at least 3 years to turn things around; but if the unconventional methods he's using to turn things around don't work, and all UT's left with is the bad rep, I don't see them putting up with that experiment for long. It's one thing to be abrasive and arrogant if it succeeds in getting your program to the top; but if you still stink it up, and all you end up with is the arrogance, people are far less forgiving than if you'd just gone about your business respectfully, honorably, and quietly. If you're going to make a program a target, you better be able to deliver.
