How many more losses do you think his boorish behavior will cause us? Anyone who has played competitive sports knows that it takes more than anger to win. In fact, getting too psyched can lead to mistakes and if by chance the lesser team survives the intial onslaught, it provides a great opportunity for them to make a game of it given the zapped emotions and energy of the favorite.

I am torn about the UF/Tenn game. Because I really don't think the world could handle the cloud of smug that Kiffin would release after the game... but I would love to see a first year coach beat Urban. I do think of all the defensive coordinators around the league, Monte will be the one to come up with the best anti-Tebow scheme.

But back on topic... dumb idea. Why even waste the money? Is a player going to be like... "I have never heard of this Tennessee....where is that?" or "I was gonna go to Florida... but that billboard made me decide on Tennessee." Pointless crap... just pissing off Urban even more.

this does bring up an interesting point, though. after a championship season, is Florida still hungry enough to get up for all of these grudge matches? it seems like they've drawn big circles around UT, UGA, and FSU on the schedule. could an Ole Miss-style lack of focus happen again in one of the games nobody is really looking at? i admit i'm grasping at straws here, but why couldn't it happen?

obviously we don't have much in the way of bragging rights where Alabama is concerned lately, but i'm not sure why the Tiders would laugh at us for trying to buy our way into success, considering all the $aban worship...

Zartan, don't worry about trollzilla. There are actually a couple of threads that support your theory. One I believe is titled, " is anyone else here concerned about the staff that UT is putting together" or something like that. Another is a thread with a poll about which of the new staffs in the conference is the most formidable.

I don't want to get into the usual pissing match. I think we've both gone back and forth on this until we're blue in the face. If hiring Kiffin is what you all would deem as a pursuit of success then so be it.

There again. Is this not dumbass? Let's think. Steve Spurrier, Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, Les Miles, Mark Richt, and a couple of others that have been in the SEC for a day or two have never thought of this? How dare them!!!! They need Lane to show them the way. NOW I GET IT!! Cannot WAIT to see the artwork on those boards!! This guy may have some mental issues. I'm not kidding. I'm very serious. Tennessee has been down, no doubt. I'm not a Tennessee hater. But this guy may dig them into the abyss.

I don't know... how much longer do you think he'll act like an immature, petulant child? Of course it takes more than anger to win; but I think most of the coaches and their players know how to focus that anger at this point. I could point to the last team that pissed Meyer off as an example, but we've covered that plenty... I didn't see too many mistakes in that vengeance game... not on UF's part anyway.

I'm not really sure what you mean by the second part, about if our focus is on y'all we won't repeat. We open with Charleston Southern and Troy; and despite the glaring mismatches, I'm sure an experienced team like ours won't be looking ahead. Besides, UT is our first SEC game, so that vendetta will be out of the way at the very beginning of the season, should we win it. We won't meet all those quality teams you're referring to until after y'all visit the Swamp, and all that's been settled on the field.

With UT being somewhat down...you would think Kiffin would lay low...try and sneak up on the Gators...that's what common sense tells me...but common sense and Kiffin don't belong in the same sentence.

He's given motivation to a team that likely had little in regards to UT. They haven't beat us since Zook's last season...and if the refs weren't complete idiots, they wouldn't have then. I just hope UT makes it past UCLA...I'll be rootin' for them against those pantie-waste PAC10 punks...let 'em be 2-0 coming into the Swamp....please.
