Yeah but I just get tired of this crap being written about Bama by some jacka$$ who doesn't have a clue about Alabama football. This guy is like the Cowherd's in America. They have no clue what Alabama football is all about they just think we're a bunch of crazed lunatics ready to throw a brick through someone's window and lynch a coach after they lose to Auburn. I'm so sick of this kind of bs.
Since losing my sig bet I'll sport my Auburn sig until Nov. 14th
Great top 4 but I disagree with Michigan being 5th. The average life span of a Michigan coach is around 10 seasons. Gary O. Moeller only lasted 5 seasons ('90-'94) but was fired not because of his performance as head coach but for a drunken outburst following an arrest on a charge of disorderly conduct that was caught on video and released to the public. Michigan is one of the best jobs in the country, its very demanding, but history shows the pressure is not that affective on the coaches. Doesn't make much sense to me.

Yeah I'd put a few schools ahead of Michigan as far as pressure. I think there's more pressure at Auburn to win than Michigan...hell at UT for that matter.

I think the argument could be made that the reason Michigan doesn't always seem like a high-pressure job is because they have been very consistently good from year to year. I mean, we are talking about a football program that had an unprecedented streak of 33 straight bowl appearances. Over a 33-year timespan they averaged nearly 9 wins a season. Up until last year, the last season they did not go to a bowl game was 1967. That's amazingly consistent.
That timespan consisted of the tenures of Bo Schembechler and Lloyd Carr. Those are two pretty legendary coaches.
All the other teams on the list (Notre Dame, Bama, Nebraska, etc) have had their share of ups and downs, so their times of trouble get exploited by the media and the backlash is obvious. But Michigan has been up there at the top year in and year out. Of course there won't be much criticism from the supporters if things are going well. But as was evident last year in their 3-win season, Michigan still has standards that have to be reached. The jury is still out on Rod in Ann Arbor. Some think he will get things turned around, others do not.
But don't be mistaken, I think the longevity of UM's coaches' tenures can be attributed more to their success rather than tolerance from the fans/supporters.
I disagree with Michigan. But there are so many teams that could be added, very tough list to put together. Possible teams:
Florida
Auburn
LSU
Texas
Oklahoma
USC
I think all of these should be ahead of ND, Michigan, and Nebraska
Nebraska? I guess I don't get that one. Agree with the rest though (especially the part about Auburn being an ankle biter). I'd replace Nebraska with Texas though.
