I agree...I don't know what the line is for the Auburn/LA Tech game, but I see this game as being a lot closer than most people might think. Even if Auburn wins, I don't think it'll be pretty. Something along the lines of 21-17 AU would be my guess.
Auburn might have some issues with La Tech, but I wouldn't call it a "trap" game regardless. If Auburn struggles with La Tech, it will be because the players have not yet adjusted to new systems. A trap game implies Auburn looks past La Tech. I cannot imagine the new coaching staff doing allowing this to happen. Last year's staff did not get fired for losing to superior teams - they got fired for losing to teams with less talent and to losing so badly to Bama when they had enough talent for a much closer game.

Good points. I don't think Auburn looks past La Tech either. I just think it's a game they could potentially lose to a team who has inferior talent. But I agree, I think if the Tigers struggle, it will be attributed to the fact that they do not have their offensive system set in place yet. I think that will keep the game relatively low-scoring, thus keeping the Bulldogs in it.
I liked the picks especially the Arkansas/Troy game. Definitely one the Hogs should be looking out for.
I think Auburn's trap game is in week 1. And I'm not just saying this to stir crap up. I really do think LA Tech is going to give the Aubies all they can stand.
Well, I wasn't. I'm not saying that in a joking way to antagonize you Aubies like I have before in trash talking. I do think there's a legitimate chance you guys lose that ball game.

yall have a legitimate chance to lose to Florida Intl.
Last year, a blocked PAT took a huge bite out of Florida's National Championship hopes, when the Ole Miss Rebels rode into Gainesville and stunned the eventual National Champions.
Why do I have such an issue with that? Oh yea it was coaching and sloppy play that lost UF that game. Too bad they were all on their game for the SEC CG.
Most teams just "trap" themselves with expectations or emotion or other coachable aspects of the game. Sometimes you are your own worst enemy.

I agree. That's basically what this list is. A list of games that teams are likely to not be 100% mentally prepared in against a team capable of pulling off the upset.
I don't want to claim to be a guru or anything, but I picked the Ole Miss game as our trap game before the season started last year. I also had the Rebels at 8-4 on the year.

I think that we all knew that Nutt could do well with Ole Miss right off of the Bus with what was left for him there. I picked Ole Miss to go 8-4 too. I don't think that there is team that will do what Ole Miss did last season.
I don't predict a trap game for UF this year, but then again I didn't pick a loss for them last year.
"I don't know, we haven't played Alabama yet." -- Vince Lombardi after being asked what it felt like to be the greatest football team in the world just after winning the '66 Super Bowl.
I've never thought of an sec vs sec team a trap game. Maybe a hung over from the heck of a fight the week before or looking ahead to the next weekend but not a trap. A good example of a trap was Msu vs La Tech at La Tech in the opening game last year. That was just written in the stars as problems for Msu.
