If I was a Bama fan I would think that way. Why wouldnt he think that way. You should think that OM will win it.

Auburn should have 6 or 7 wins this year.A lot of it is going to depend on QB play and staying away from injuries. Most everyone knows they're thin in some places.Either way I see more than 3 wins.

This thread is messed up.

Auburn was dang close, I mean dang close to a 3 win season last year, but early in the season their defense was regarded as one of the best. Fall camp was crap last year and well let's not go back down this road.

Auburn has turned it around this season and they'll look better. We have to keep an eye on those injuries though. Anything better than 5 wins will be agreat season for AU this year. There's hardly an AU fan that I know that wouldn't take a 7 win season right now if you offered it to them.
"I don't know, we haven't played Alabama yet." -- Vince Lombardi after being asked what it felt like to be the greatest football team in the world just after winning the '66 Super Bowl.

We were also dang close to a 10-win season. I don't see how everyone is predicting a 3 or 5 win season. You weren't here to experience the turmoil of the coaching staff last season, so I can't expect you to understand how dysfunctional we were last year. Any small improvement in coaching, and we could've won as many as 10 games. We may sink back down to 5-7, but I think we'll get 6 wins MINIMUM. It doesn't make sense to be predicting these things right now though, especially with so many changes. So give the Auburn prediction threads a rest. PLEASE. (Even if you're predicting 9 or 10 wins for us, don't.)

I hate to say Auburn will do better that 3 wins wins.

I'd say 5-7 wins

Take our 5 wins and add:

L LSU 26-21 ---- Only 5 points
L Vandy 14-13 ---- Only 1 point
L Arkansas 25-22 ---- Only 3 points
L Ole Miss 17-7 ---- Only 10 points
L UGA 17-13 ---- Only 4 points

That's 5 games, lost by a combined 23 points. Even if you don't like Ole Miss being in there, make it as many as 9 wins. 9 games by a combined 13 points. We weren't very far from having a VERY good record......

Auburn was beat late in the game last year, kinda like what Bama's teams were like in '03 - '07. We lacked depth. I think Tubby slacked off his last few years in recruiting and the quality depth isn't there. Look for them to wear down in games again this year, against the better teams.

Someone else made that point already, and I didn't deny it. I simply stated that we were also close to 10-2 as well. Coaching wins close games, and that was our weakness last year. That's how you go 2-5 in close games; poor coaching. We're more stable this year, so I think we'll be better in those close games. It's still unpredictable though.

Tubbs won a lot of games for us, yes. But last year was a perfect storm of coaching dysfunction. I'm not relying solely on Chizik to be our savior. I think he has already done a great job by surrounding himself with assistants that can make his job easy. Malzahn, Luper, and Trooper will have our offense in a much better position than it was last year, and the defense, though it might not be quite as good, will still be solid. All-in-all our coaching situation is FAR better than it was last year. (Note again, I know what Tubbs did in the past. Last year was not exactly a typical year for him)
