“Trooper Taylor was recently on Sports Callradio. He said Auburn fans should save their money and don’t buy fireworks because Auburn will have all the fireworks they need in July. He was hinting at something very big in recruiting in July.
Believing this to be hype, I decided to find out more. Two of my former coworkers have connections to the Auburn program. I made some calls and have confirmed for myself that the Auburn coaches do, in fact, have a huge event planned in July. It will truly be bigger than anything they (orany other school) have done so this year. Possibly ever. It’s going to shake the very foundation of Bama v. Auburn recruiting. It could very possibly serve as the turning point in what has been complete domination since Saban arrived at UA.
It is being called Stars and Stripes Weekend (recruiting stars and tiger stripes).
On one weekend in July (the weekend of the 18th), no less than twelve very heavily recruited players will announce that they are committing to Auburn. Their commitment announcements have been coordinated by the Auburn staff to occur on this particular weekend.
I say no less than twelve, because: 1)Ladarius Owens is not among those 12 and may make his decision and announce on July 4 or he may wait to the18th. 2) Several other top recruits will be present and may decide to commit along with the 12 whose commitment announcements have already been coordinated.
I have never seen anything like this. This is going to vault them into the top five in recruiting rankings and put them in the mix for tons of other players.”
Sounds like Bama should just pack it up this year

Just out of curiosity, if Auburn goes 5-7 or worse, do you think they'll stay committed? I mean, it's only July, and you're only dealing with fickle teenagers.

Yea, I have to agree. I would hope they would but I am not going to get my hopes up for this thing. I think that some of it is true but I just have a hard time believing we have 12 commitments coming our way on one weekend. I mean, it would be an awesome idea and would draw the media attention we need but I just don't really see us landing 12 guys all at once like that. I think we do get some though, I'm thinking maybe 5 at best, which would still be really solid in my book.

Exactly, this is the reason why Auburn will not compete with Alabama in recruiting, or at least come close to our elite level in a couple of years. The level with Florida, Southern Cal, Texas and among others. Don't get me wrong though, they'll have success...you just can't expect them to be in the top 5 the first recruiting season.
Bring on all these commitments, it's not like Coach Saban won't top it.

Yet your bragging about all your in-state early commitments...who's to say you won't lose some of those guys too? They haven't signed that LOI yet buddy. Sure you guys have less of a chance of blowing this season than we do but the "Almighty Elite Alabama" isn't freaking perfect. Man, one good season and you guys are calling yourselves "elite". Give me a break.

Saban has yet to lose a recruit while at Alabama. And they did manage to come up with a number one recruiting class coming off a 6-6 record. I'm pretty sure Alabama is set on recruiting.

Number of players Nick Saban has lost: 0
We will never have a problem with a player decommitting. If it happens it'll be under special circumstances.
Elite level of recruiting. Don't twist it the wrong way and get your panties twisted in the process. Two #1 classes in a row and this year's class is already surpassed the pace of the previous two. If you don't like facts...don't step up to the plate.

That's funny, because that's honestly the best record you Barners can hope for this season. Oh and the simple fact that you're the only dumbass that predicts such a record.

probably not, but lets be honest...we will win atleast six so these guys are obviously a lock. *tongue-in-cheek*
In all seriousness, like i have said before, i am glad we are making positive news again but I will not be happy until the news we make is coming from results on the field.
I hope this story actually ends up being true because if it did happen, it would be pretty remarkable.

you wont be laughin soon
all ill say is this, Saban may be a good recruiter...but there are better "Coaches" in our division let alone the conference...i dont really pay much attention to the ole miss hype(theyll crash and burn) but yall have the "real" target on your back, its gonna start with Tennessee...mark it down.
