Funny how fast the NCAA is willing to let the smackdown on any Southern school possible... yet Southern Cal can get away with murder.

It's all over the net, now. BOL has a big writeup on it. They're also saying we would have a 1-12 record for 2007 with the win over Colorado. Doesn't make sense since we beat UT after the players were suspended.

The vacated wins don't mean sh*t; just an asterisk in some media guides. What does concern me is three years probation. That is bullsh*t. We should most definitely appeal that.

bama got screwed, i hate bama as much as the next guy but they get 3 years probation for this, but USC can give a guy a house. The NCAA ticks me off sometimes.

I never realized how widespread the scandal was. This article on AL.com says that over 200 athletes were involved, but that football had the fewest. Still, 3 years probation for that seems excessive to me.

As the wait continues, new details emerge about Alabama's textbook case... - The Rap Sheet - al.com

Hell yeah it's excessive..... the NCAA loves to bust our balls. I figured we'd lose a coupla scholorships, not three more years of purgatory.

Once those NCAA f*ckers have a hook in ya', it's hard to get loose. We got put on probation back in '85 that had us vacating our first SEC title in '84. Then, they stayed on us for the next 5 years, and we got put on it again in '90, which screwed us out of another SEC title that would have been Spurrier's first... and he didn't even have anything to do with the violations (the violations had occurred in '87-'88).

Sucks screwing up while being in the Repeat Offender timeframe.

Most of the violations were necause of prepackaged books for course the athletes took, there was "suggested reading" material in them that is deemed an extra benefit by the NCAA. I know, ridiculous.
