SEC Football Talk Little doubt remains of which football conference is truly the best. Will the SEC win an unprecedented fifth straight BCS title? Who will face off in Atlanta this December? Will another one of our own once again capture the prestigious Heisman Trophy? Talk about it all here.

This forum is for SEC Football talk only, not for recruiting, NFL, or non-SEC college football discussion.

Florida OFFICIAL: BCS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP THREAD
One day away...and I'm prepared. The beer is on ice...the oysters are on ice...now, just hurry-up and wait.

As far as the game...the bowls have revealed, at least as far as Texas and TT are concerned...that a "decent" defensive game-plan can slow the circus-act Big12 offenses down to a crawl. Will the same work for OU? Don't know, but I'm interested to see how OU can handle a game where they don't get 80 plays...a game where the opposing offense can control the ball with a quick ground game and intermediate passing...I do think that the Big12 defenses are somewhat "weak"...they have to be. Texas needed a generous spot on a 4th down play as well as a complete breakdown in pass coverage by OSU to beat the one-dimensional Buckeyes. TT got their arses handed to them...heck, OM spotted them a couple of TDs and still spanked 'em.

The Gators are bringing a well-balanced attack...super-speed...and a defense unlike anything OU has seen. I really believe if our DL and LBs can put any pressure on Bradford...the Gators will win...and it may not be close. I believe OU will score some points...but only about half of what they're use to. On the other side, the Gators should be able to put up their average. With a completely healthy offense for the first time this season...the Gators should be able to control the ball and maybe even add a special teams score...if nothing else, I look for our special teams to put us in good field position most of the night.

I'm excited to see how these teams match up...not gonna predict a score or even that the Gators will win. But looking at the match-ups...I'm liking what I see.

GO GATORS!!!!

The matchup I cant wait to see is the OU offense vs the UF defense. First, can OU protect Bradford from the DL/LB's. When they do, can the UF secondary cover those OU wr's? This will be the difference in the game. I believe our offense can score at least 35 points on the sooners defense. Not turning the ball over will be crucial for both sides but esp. for UF.

I cant wait for tomorrow...Can we win our 3rd national championship or will the Heisman winner lead his team to an NC?

I am thinking of pulling for Oklahoma. Of course that won't matter to the game, but I think I might. Here is my reasoning:

(1) You guys beat us and killed our season.
(2) I did get 1 of my degrees from UF and having lived in Gainesville for a year, makes me lean to OU.
(3) Now that we actually have a coach that will go after a player, no matter who else he has to fight for it, we are starting to see more Saban vs Meyer recruiting battles. Not a ton, but a few. Honestly, another UF national title does not help Alabama in any way. That is just another recruiting tool to a guy that already is a great recruiter and coach.
(4) When I went out to OU for the Bama game, I loved it. Their fans were great. I liked OU and OKC. It was almost like their fans were exactly like ours (I just teed it up for the Auburn and Tennessee fans).

I love the SEC but another title realy does not help Alabama, hence why I am leaning to OU.

At the same time I think UF wins and I won't be too tore up about it, but Boomer Sooner.

I will now put on my flame resistant suit. But I do hope anyone going to the game has a safe trip and has a great time.

Good luck to the Gators. This Gamecock fan (and SEC fan) is pulling for you. Keep the NC trophy in the SEC.

+reps for all the "SEC FANS"...

As for "the others"...can we talk about the game instead of who you want to win and for what reasons?

I know many SEC fans will pull against us...for prestige reasons, recruiting reasons, whatever...and I understand...I would honestly pull for any SEC team vs OOC...but that's me. I would just like to "hear" what some of you think about the game...the match-ups.

I've always had respect for OU but I hope and expect the Gators to win this one. I agree with Gator2753, the battle will be decided between UF's defense vs OU's offense.
Gator's defense wins this one.

Lsu OSU... OU... what's the diff!
Geaux Gators! Let's go for an SEC three-peat! 2006... 2007... 2008..!

And that would be four SEC BCS Championship's in six years!
There's no better place to celebrate a National Championship than New Orleans.

... and we've done it twice in five years !

I won't lose any sleep over who wins this. Part of me wants the SEC to prove it's better then the Big 12 again...other part of me wants UF to be knocked off their high horse...

Don't care...smart money is on Florida

Florida: 45 > Oklahoma: 24
