Tennessee Probation Ended for Bama, $$$$$$
SI.com - NCAA Football - Alabama's five-year probation officially ends - Thursday February 1, 2007 2:09PM

According to this article bama is officially off probation & they get their escrowed share of the 02 & 03 bowl money (+ $8,700,000). I wonder what they're going to do w/ all that cash a week before signing day... lol.

Great timing by the "thinkers" at the NCAA. Unfortunately for the players, I think that money has already been turned into a cashier's check with Nick Saban's name printed on it.

hmmm. Why would this be unfortunate to the players? Last time I checked, players don't get money. When I was talking about my idea that players should get some sort of allowance with 2 Alabama Basketball players last thursday at the car wash, they gave me no indication that they were paid.

Unless you are making some accusation that there are payoffs within a school and not from some back alley booster club envelope.

Only addressing GvilleDave's innuendo. IF that happens, there's no money left for players.

It is likely earmarked for the 2008 stadium expansion.

So, they're going to do the south end this time around? I believe that would put BDS over 100,000 seats.

Man, the big 10 even sucks at the internet -cocky4ever
