Default Gamecocks Poised To Be SEC Spoiler
The Spurrier-rejuvenated Gamecocks are getting better and better and are poised to do some serious spoiling in the SEC. Look at the possibilities:

Tennessee
Columbia, S.C.
The Gamecocks have what the Vols fear the most, a slippery QB who can both run and throw. The Gamecocks COULD win this one at home.

Arkansas
Columbia, S.C.
Spurs will stop the vaunted Hog running attack from being a fatal threat, he will outcoach Nutt, and Mustain is not as good as Newton, especially considering that Spurs is guiding Syvelle's every play. Look for the Gamecocks to win this one at home and start the derailment of the Hogs (which will be completed by Tennessee and LSU).

Florida
Gainesville, Fla.
Tell me Spurs won't have his team ready to play! The Ole Ball Coach would like nothing better than to sock it to DisturbinUrban for the second year in a row, right in the Swamp. Could definitely happen!

My money (and my hopes) are on the Gamecocks to maybe win all three of these games and be the biggest spoiler in the SEC in years.

Not sure my money is on this happening, but my hopes sure are.

Ya know Geaux that if USC does in fact, win those last SEC games and UGA loses one more, USC goes to the SECCG.

I just thought I would throw that out there. One game at a time though.

I also agree that Spurrier will have these boys ready for Tennessee and that he has already explained to the team the implications behind these last few games.

This post should stirr up alot of opinions! No doubt that this is the stretch that will either make or break the Gamecocks. All 3 of these games should be really close. Respectfully, I have to disagree with you on USC beating UF. Main reason? No its not the standings or the rankings. I dont see USC coming into the swamp and lighting up the scoreboard. Not against our D. We have held opposing teams offenses to a very low total. UT Bama Auburn & LSU. All of these teams didnt score very well (on offense) against the gators. Steve is a great coach and a heck of a play caller but I dont see them winning even a close one the swamp. UT and Arky on the other hand... that could be a different story. UT is on a roll but hasnt dominated anyone by any means.Home field advantage will certainly be an advantage in this one. Arky is the best at running the ball and has a slowly improving freshman QB. But... if USC stacks the line and stops the run, then the game will be in the hands of a freshman on the road. USC has a nightmare of a schedule left. UT, Arkansas, UF, and (Klempson).
This may hurt their bowl cahnces this year but watch out for them next year. Ive always said the only thing Steve does better than coaching is recruiting!

Now that would truly be beautiful! Ya gotta love Spurs, man. Already, he is creating big-time excitement for us SEC football lovers.

You didn't really stop LSU, they stopped themselves with fumbles and bumbles. Bama played you well, considering what they have, which isn't that much on offense. You did okay with The Barn, but not good enough to win. Your claim is valid, however, against Tennessee (who, by the way, seem to be much stronger now than when they played you).

Look for the Gamecocks to be very tough in your homeland. They are not coming down there for a vacation, they are coming to play football and to win. You have the superior talent, but the Gamecocks have the superior coach and a LOT of motivation.

You're worse than Holtz giving other teams lockerroom material.
I hope you're right, but I won't hold my breath.

While I agree that USC is a spoiler, am a devoted Spurrier fan, and think they are an improving team, I can't subscribe to this prediction. They simply don't have the talent and depth overall to match up against and overpower #5 rushing defense in the nation Arkansas, strong overall offense Tennessee, and strong overall defense Florida ALL THREE. Could one of the three happen? Absolutely! And let me say that I am sincerely worried that it could be Arkansas it happens to. But, for even two-out-of-three to happen is not likely, and I think the Vegas handicappers would give you double-digit odds on wins against all three. But, it's nice to hope if you are one of the teams who has to have other teams upset to end up in a championship game.

South Carolina is a dangerous team under Spurrier, now and in the future.

I think Tennessee played their best game of the year against us, to be honest with you. It may not have been as thrilling as the comeback win over Georgia, but their Defense played lights out and Ainge made the plays when he needed too.

The Tennessee team that showed up against Bama this week was nowhere near the same caliber team that showed up against us on September 16th.

hmmm, the cocks remaining schdule is going to be brutal down the stretch. I THINK they only have a legitimate shot at one of the fore mentioned schools and that would be us. Ole Miss was able to shut down our run game to a limited extent last weekend (although McFadden did have a 50 yard TD called back on a BS hold), but Mustain and Dick both stepped up and looked pretty sharp. ESPN just picked it up for primetime so thats a plus. Also keep in mind that we've faced two extremely athletic QB's already this season. Eventhough Newton appears to be the best ATHLETIC QB in the league so far it's not like its the first time we've seen it.

As for the rest of your post Geaux entertaining read, if you actually believe it then well puff, puff, pass that this way.

Carolina looked better to me this past week against Vandy than in any other game since AU.

Ainge looked his worst in the Bama game since the FLA game.

Those two facts makes this weeks line in single digits IMO, but I haven't seen any spreads yet.

not dominating???

weak team? yeah...regardless, is that not dominating?

Tennessee over Georgia (top 10 team at the time) in Georgia 51-33
(only the second time anyone has ever scored 50 in their stadium)
what else can we do to impress you people?!?

score 50 in every game?
UT has done exactly what they've needed to, with the exception of losing by 1 point to florida.
