Lsu UK Names Starting QB for Louisville Contest
After a competition that spanned the spring, summer, and fall, with challenger Curtis Pulley being named the tentative starter at the end of spring camp, the Lexington media report that at today's weekly press conference Coach Rich Brooks named junior returning starter Andre Woodson the starting QB for Sunday's contest with Louisville. Coach Brooks noted that both QB's will see the field.

Just a little info for those who might have something in play.

I really think this is a good choice. Not saying Pulley can't do the job. I think for now Woodson can get us where we need to be. He adds another dimension to the offense with his arm. I just hope the oline has improved enough to give him some time.

My prediction: UK 37 UL 34

Pulley has reported come a fair distance with his passing, but he had a long road in front of him. I think he still struggles with the deep ball, and Woodson does not, provided the front holds up long enough for routes to develop. The staff talks like they want to stretch the field more this year, so I think that was the key. I can't imagine they'd discuss doing so seriously without having greater faith in the line (they didn't attempt it last year) so I'm guardedly optimistic about the offense.

They'll both play. Pulley is going to play Shockley to Woodson's Greene. I hope they both compare favorably to those models.
