View Poll Results: Who should be the SEC Freshman of the Year?
Kudos to Mr. Holtz and the exposure he's giving USC while on ESPN. Watching him really convinces me that he indeed loves this university and wants it to succeed.
BTW: Rice was nominated for a Pontiac: Game changing performance on ESPN last night.

I had to vote for Rice. He is type of playmaker that can change a game on any given play. Granted, McFadden is as well, but Rice seems like a more valuable player. The only thing that broke his record for consecutive TD games was a pass interference and the fact the got tackled one yard away from the goal line. I'll admit that I havent seen many Ark games this year, but I have seen some highlights of McFadden and he is impressive. However, I have seen all but one SC game and the one I didnt I listened to on the radio and Rice continues to amaze every single week. They are both great players but I think Rice brings more to SC than McFadden brings to Ark.
If Arkansas and SC had around the same record, I'd have a tougher time with this decision. But given the circumstances, I'd have to give this honor to Rice. A player can be the best in the nation, but if he's not helping bring his team the wins, then it's a lot harder to choose them over the winning team. Jay Cutler has learned this the hard way. He's one of the best QBs in the nation, but because his team isn't winning he has little shot at awards.

Kudos to you Jordan for putting team loyalities to the side. I agree with your post 150%.

i voted for mcfadden, just because he's been outstanding against everyone, including us. Rice didn't do much against us, granted he didn't have mitchell throwing to him that game. I was very impressed with him after last night though, he goes up and gets the ball very well, big kid. Mcfadden, to me, is just something else. I think it's easier to come in and be a freshman sensation at WR than at RB in the SEC. What Mcfadden has done against the level of competition (SEC defenses) is incredible. Both players are deserving of the award though, and would be happy if either player won.

Thats one thing I agree with you 100%. There are some GREAT young kinds in the SEC this year.
we need a new poll, one with McFadden, Rice, and Vandy WR earl Bennett, he had 5 TD's yesterday and cut up our secondary....., let's give credit where credit's due....
Do you all think Rice will be like a bunch of Spurrier W.R.'s that didnt do alot in the NFL. Not trying to start an argument , but is seems that it has happend alot before. Any way, I think that the catch he made yesterday was the play that hurt us the most, where he caught it at the 50 or so yard-line and run it down to like the three, when he should've been stopped about where he caught it.

I think with his hands he has an excellent future in the NFL, but I want to see a few more year here before he worries about that.
