No,I mean thomas brown, kregg lumpkin, and michael cooper. Then we got maybe the best tight end in the country. Two very good recievers,a balanced D and one of the best lines in the country.
Danny Ware is not our best tailback. That honor goes to Thomas Brown. Ware is still very good but he is not our best. I can only think of how good Kregg Lumpkin would have been if not for injury. Before his injury he was head and shoulders above everyone else. Considering how our freshmen played, I can only think of what could have been. Leonard Pope is the best tight end in the SEC by far, if not the best in the country. He will help out DJ immensely as will our strong running game. I have confidence in DJ.
My list goes like this:
1. Brodie Croyle
2. Erik Ainge
3. Chris Leak
4. Jamarcus Russel
5. DJ Shockley

Well said,we have alot of weapons to help DJ and I really like DJ he has waited for his turn. His chance to shine has come and he wants to take UGA to a sec championship.
Put yourself in D.J's shoes from the beginning. A huge high school star who was the #1 recruit in the country signs with UGA in 2000. He commits to a school who at the present time had no starting QB and Shockley thinks he will get to make some immediate noise. But, out of no where David Greene comes along and just steals the show. Do any of you know that the only schlorship offer David Green got was from UGA? He wasn't very highly recruited. So, here is DG, winning game after game, while D.J is sitting on the bench. Richt begins to rotate the two QB's... Greene is proven, Shockley is not. Did any of you know how much pressure has been on this kid since DG became a star? He was the #1 recruit in the country, he had better live up to his potential, especially at UGA.
My point is the fact that Shockley has put so much pressure on himself to do well to prove his worth. Plus the fact that he played behind the winningest QB in college football history. Greene is gone, a huge chip is lifted off D.J.'s shoulders, now he can go on the field feeling no pressure because he's the man, plain and simple. Richt will do the same thing Auburn did for Jason Campbell, simplify the playbook and D.J will shock a lot of people. And the other dawg fans, like myself make good points, Shockley will be behind the best OL in the country, plus he has one of the best backfields in the country. He'll be fine, you will all see.
I wouldn't at all be surprised if UGA looks a lot like that Tenn. team back in 98 next year.

That is exactly what I said and everyone was laughing at me.UGA has a very easy schedule and if DJ plays good can end up winning 10 games. We got 3 very good backs and that takes alot of pressure off DJ.

Florida, Tennessee, Auburn, and Spurrier are never an easy schedule. I would say that our schedule is easier than it has been since MSU rotates on and LSU rotates off.
1. Brodie Croyle - Alabame
2. D.J Shockley - UGA
3. Chris Leak - Florida
4. Jamarcus Russell - LSU
5. Erik Ainge - Tennessee ..... And I am being generous. I just don't believe this kid yet. Hell, any QB will look good when most of the plays are called at the line of scrimmage after the coordinators up in the booth see what scheme the defense is in and then radio the play down to the field.
What is yalls deal with auburn, they are not gonna be any good this season. They lost their whole offense and Rosegreen and rogers on defense.
Auburn has been such a thorn in our side over the years. NEVER take them lightly. You never know how good a team will be. That is why I hate preseason polls. The first polls should come out after week 6 in my opinion.
