Nutt isn't as popular as he once was, but he should be safe for a while barring more stupid flirting with another school.

A lot of that was behind the scenes material. To be honest, Nebraska had been approaching Nutt for months before he finally turned the job down.

Five years is a pretty long time. He's (Richt) a cool customer, though. He never seems to get riled. But, if I were a Georgia fan, I'd be a little concerned about his dependability and ability to win the big ones. Having said that, I am remembering that he did whip the crap out of our butts this year!

If UGA fires Richt they're just plain dumb. He's had success every year in an extremely tough conference, won an SEC championship, etc.... He was the offensive mind for those powerful FSU teams back in the day. Is he really on the hot seat down there?

I agree. He's been looking around of late....and one can argue the Hogs have underachieved (i.e., remember all the talk after they took down Texas a few years ago??). Unless Vandy and/or UK make hasty moves, I'd say Nutt.

Questionable recruiting.....hmmm. What are you talking about??? Scout.com has us at the #6 class in the nation right now. Whatever Meyer is doing, you wish USC was doing it too! hahaha...

Del, did you think that was legit??? I remember NU's AD saying they never offered him. I always thought it was Nutt's crappy backdoor way of getting a better deal out of Arkansas.

Exactly Del!! They approached the hell out of Nutt. Peterson, isn't that Nebraska's AD, is a jackass. He just got turned down by the coach at Arkansas and felt stupid. I remember when all this was happening, one of the local papers up here in Fayetteville ran a picture of the Nebraska jet parked in the runway at Fayetteville's airport. Nebraska wanted Nutt, but he wasn't stupid enough to take that job. If Nutt would've coached them this year, their record wouldn't have been different but his butt would've gotten canned. Bill C. has a little margin for error, not much at all, but a little because of his NFL experience. Looks like it worked out great for them now, as I hear their class will be ranked numeral uno when signing day comes.

Nutt will really, really have to screw up for him to get canned here. If Frank Broyles likes you at Arkansas, then you ain't gettin fired. I think it would be a possiblity though if the Hogs had a terrible season this year (very possible) and another the next (probably not). The schedule eases up big time this year compared to last year, and that's even with USC on there. Not South Carolina, friggin USC. Boy, that should be fun. Oh, it's in LA too. Nice one Frank.

In my opinion though, Nutt should've tried to land that LSU job. That, again in my op., is the No. 1 job in America. If not no.1, it's in the top-five no doubt about it. Hell, I could coach LSU and win at least 8 games every year. So could anybody. If the talent's there, it's hard to mess up.

Bottom line, will Nutt get fired soon??.....no way, not until he really pisses Frank off. But, he's no longer Arkansas' favorite son. He pissed Broyles off by flirting with LSU recently and that ain't good. Arkansas' program is like the mafia. Broyles is the godfather. If you mess with him, you're gonna get whacked. Two bad seasons and he Nutt could very well be fired. Will he be the first one on that list to go?....not a chance.
