I did not think last weekend could be topped, but the surprises didn't cease this weekend.
Gotta start with my Vols.... arguably the best 60 minutes they've played in many, many years. Hats off to Phil and the entire staff for that dominating performance. Good to know the program still has a pulse! To the Dawgs, I think it's safe to say that the "Honeymoon's over" with regards to Richt. That was an embarrassing effort! That's 6 straight losses in division and precludes the "Battle for the Basement" versus Vandy this week. Tough times in Athens!!
What a gutsy performance by LSU and a tough loss by Florida. What a great game, though!! Take note of this....KUDOS TO LES MILES!! If for no other reason than fairness, because if the gambles had not paid off, he would be getting absolutely roasted and ran out of Baton Rouge today. Those decisions took guts! I'm not sure I agree with all of them, but he deserves credit none-the-less since they worked out. Too early to pencil them into the NT game, however. The Gators did prove that defense to be human and the way this college football season is shaping up, there are NO certainties.
What an absolute choke job by USC!! What the hell was that?? How they only dropped to #10 I've no idea. That was a MUCH bigger upset than the Appy State win in Michigan. Seeing as how I've been on the Trojan bandwagon this year, I am completely humbled. What a devestating loss!!
Don't look now, but the Luckeyes are right there. They basically have one real game left and should they beat Michigan, they will likely back into the NT game again! The Big 10 is AWFUL!!!
Speaking of awful conferences, how is Missouri and Kansas the only undefeated teams in the Big 12?? They are REALLY giving the Big 10 a run for their money!!

About 9-10 years ago, while heading to Mardis Gras with some friends, we stopped in Biloxi, MS. I had never been to a casino, so I decided to watch as my 4 buds played blackjack. I knew how to play, but didn't feel comfortable gambling with my money. Anyway, my friend has 16...the dealer is showing a 5...I tell my friend to stay...he does, the dealer has 15...takes a card and busts. So, my friend gives me a $10 chip (half of his winnings). I take the chip put it on the table...hit blackjack...three times in a row. I could not lose that night...of course I lost a hand here and there...but after 4 hours of playing blackjack, I had $2,650. I cashed in my chips and was walking out with my friends...one of my other buddies said, "Holy sh*t!! You were hittin' everything...I lost my arse...I only have $100 left to go to Mardis Gras."....So I took his $100, laid it on a table...and won the hand...he had $200 to go to Mardis Gras.
Moral of this unnecessarily long story: Les Miles went to Biloxi Saturday night and didn't lose a hand.

Wow, 7 years and now the honeymoon's over? What will we ever do. Unless I'm mistaken, we both have 2 conference losses now. We still have Florida coming up, and as Auburn and Tennessee have both shown now, losing 2 games doesn't mean you're out of this race.

You are mistaken!! The Vols only have 1 conference loss!!
That said, I do admire your confidence!!

ABSOLUTELY!!
Don't misinterpret my "kudos" as gaining respect or admiration for the guy. He made some TERRIBLE coaching decisions...was just lucky enough to survive them. As I said, he'd have been run out of town had even one of them back-fired, so he deserves SOME credit!!
