Much has been made this and every preceding season about the effect the time off between games has on the teams playing them. I would like to gather everyone's general thoughts on this as it relates to the BCS title game.
Do you think the extended layoff will affect Florida or Ohio State more? Do you think it'll have any effect at all? Will it affect each team more or less the same?
Florida hasn't played since December 8th, a month and 6 days. The Buckeyes? They with the odd number of teams and no conference championship will be playing their first real game since NOVEMER 18th, five days shy of 2 full months off.
Someone in the Nut camp, it may have been one of the players, said they weren't really doing any tackling. Now, with the time off, that's an especially HUGE advantage for Florida.
If Jimbo isn't going all out, ones-on-ones, full contact and tackling in practice, it may take them a half to get up to game speed, and it could be a poor tackling day for the OSU defense.
Normally, I'd say I like the time off to do some research on a team we've never played. Watch game film, study players, come up with schemes, etc.. But, nearly 2 months is a looong time. I think OSU'll be sloppy for a while. As for UF, we needed some time off after our brutal schedule. All UF's players should be 100%. I'd say advantage:Florida. I just think there's a fine line between a healthy break and a break long enough to get lazy or bored.

Thus far the sec teams have played pretty well in bowl games. I think Fla has the edge because a tougher schedule. Plus less lay off time. I believe Fla is a quicker team overall. Their speed on defence will give OSU trouble. I also think they have something to prove. They want respect. Not saying OSU doesn't want it too, because I know they do.
Fla fans, Fla's team, and most sec fans are tried of hearing how great OSU are by so=called experts.
So young men, Shut their month's and show the country what we already know. SEC rules
