Alabama Bama Vs. Providence
This is a good opportunity for the SEC to get a win over the Big East. Hopefully Bama can get it done. Providence doesn't have the size advantage over Bama that some will, but they have a really good coach in his seond year with the program. Hopefully we'll get a good turnout and Bama is able to keep up the defensive intensity all game.

I'll call it... Bama 76-72

Providence isnt even that good this year. They were pretty good last year, but lost most of their lineup. If Bama loses this game you should be ashamed.

Providence is in their second year with Keno Davis. So they should be way ahead of Bama in terms of knowing their coach's expectations and playing the way their coach wants them to play. The Friars actually won 11 big east games last year. I think thats makes them pretty respectable.

If we lose, it will be a credit to Providence. It would also probably be due to growing pains of a program in its first year as a head coach, kinda like LSU losing by 30 to one of the first decent teams that they played last year.

1) Last year doesnt equal this year. They lost alot of talent.
2) Yeah that same team team that 1) won the sec championship 2) gave UNC one of its toughest tests in the NCAA tourney 3) Had the best player in the SEC

1) Providence lost some players, just like most teams do every year. They are still a quality opponent.

2) Further strengthenss my point- While LSU had a pretty good team last year, they showed growing pains in their first "tests" of the year going 1-3 against their first 4 respectable opponents.

I can tell you this much: Providence is probably a better team than Alabama at this point.

TiggerGopher is just looking for attention.

I don't know too much about Basketball, but Alabama has a 1st year head coach so it will obviously be a tough year.

looking for attention by posting facts? If Providence finishes in the top half of the big east, I will be shocked. I know basketball better than football and baseball combined.

Not that far of a reach.

No one is claiming Providence will finish in the top half of the Big East. However, that doesnt disqualify them from being a tough opponent for a team that's missed postseason play for the past three years and is breaking in a new coach.

If you think about it, it really is. There are 16 teams in the big east which is a top heavy conference. You will have your top 4 or 5 really good teams and everyone below, will be below average. They wont be nearly as good as last year.

Alabama will have alot of tough games. They dont really have one outstanding player but they have a group of almost all average players. But they are deep which will help them out. I see them NIT bound. We'll find out how good of a coach Grant is.

I was kind of implying that you didn't know anything about football.
