YES! Doesnt really matter for the Dawgs as they will be rebuilding, but I just dont like Kentucky basketball pricks. Maybe they can get Calipari to mess with another SAT or ACT score to find some stud.
Let all the Bulldog faithfull rally behind the men who now wear the RED AND BLACK with two words. Two simple words that express the sentiments of the entire Bulldog Nation........GO DAWGS!! -Larry Munson

This was certainly a surprise, but not a shocker. Although I am sad to see Meeks go, I appreciate his time as a wildcat and wish him the best. With that being said, I still think we can be competitive without him….. Ha, I’m joking, we’re still gonna kickass this year. On a positive, this helps with the scholarship situation and the playing time problem with these raw freshmen.
On a side note, to all you UK basketball haters out there ………Shut the hell up. Just shut up. Some people wanna make a big deal over the whole Calipari SAT deal.
First off, Calipari had nothing to with that crap according to the NCAA.
Second off, your as dumb as naïve if you don’t think your school hasn’t had shady dealings like that before. Just go talk to one of your “stud” football players and tell me he goes through the same trials and tribulations as your average college student. That includes every school in the SEC including UK. Dindt think so.
In short, take your hateration elsewhere. Or just save it for when UK comes to your arena. Your gonna need all the help you can get.

I like MSU's chances against UK. Especially without Meeks. Stansbury has already shown he can beat Calli (or almost beat him, 2008 NCAAT 2nd round), and bench for bench... MSU is in better shape than UK next year.

Certainly nobody can discount MSU this season, they proved that last year by winning the SEC tournament. That said, I don’t see a distinct advantage MSU has over UK other then experience. However, the sheer talent UK will have this season will undoubtedly be the difference

We have good talent and experience. The Hump is going to be rocking this year.
And PT, the media is hanging from your "proverbial nuts," because you're Kentucky. They hang on to USC's nuts in football too. Don't let it go to your heads.
I like Jodie Meeks's talent. I just don't think he'll be a big name in the NBA. He should have stayed and played for a great NCAA basketball coach who would have bettered him for the 2010 draft.
I wish him success on the bench or in Europe, where ever he ends up.
So my thread is the classy one, this is the one w/all the moronic haters.
Let 'em go Catattack....the time is here again when we just listen to them bitch and moan and sit back and laugh, because that's all they can do. They know who runs this, and they're jealous. Enjoy it. I find it, personally, hilarious. Their teams can't touch us w/a 10 foot pole. Isn't there a football thread somewhere where people might actually care about your teams there?

I'm not bitching a moaning. I just think, just like everyone else on this board, that the SEC will come down to UK and MSU. I didn't give the advantage to anyone, I just think with the talent Stans brought in (Renardo Sidney and John Riek) and the returning talent (Jarvis & Co), along with Stans's past matchups with Calli... that I like MSU's chances. I have a lot of respect for Calli and UK, but at the same time I'm not counting my own team out.
I'm not a "hater" when it comes to UK. A division title and a good run in the SECT would be great for me. I just want the Sweet 16 appearance, and UK has nothing to do with that. We could lose to UK in the only matchup we have this season and still make it to the Sweet 16.
My post was pretty much directed at MillDawg, but I'll be more than happy to sit here and discuss Kentucky breaking down the Bulldogs this year as well Cormac. Sorry if I don't take kindly to being called a Kentucky prick. All that's gonna do is generate a prick response from me.
And what kind of Tennessee fan roots for Kentucky, like, ever?

I watched a couple of Kentucky games last year, obviously the MSU game, along with the Ole Miss, Tennessee, and the VMI games.
Patterson and Meeks impressed me, but who else? Kentucky has some great commits, but a talented true freshmen vs MSU's less talented but more experienced players seems like a great matchup. Don't forget that MSU has Renardo Sidney coming in.
I might be a homer, but I think Jarvis is among the elite in college basketball... no matter what conference, division, team, or anything. Bost impressed me with his quick thinking and leadership, so much that by the end of the season I was trying to think if Gordon would have been better or not (I still haven't decided).
Stans is a player's coach. He isn't the best game coach, but I just feel great about next season.
UK vs MSU for the SEC. Hopefully for the next 5 years after that too.

Geez Iam just joking around and trying to lighten it up a little. Am I not allowed to like another team? When Tenn is not playing Kentucky I want them to win so I guess Iam bad or something .
